Redpaw's hunting

Redpaw nodded and turned his focus on the river. His shadow stretched out behind him and he raised his paw as he waited. A glimmer of silver caught his eyes and he slipped his paw in quickly. Redpaw unsheathed his claws and hooked his paws to catch the fish. The fish was scooped onto te pebbles and Redpaw killed it easily with a blow to it's spine. "Now what?"

Frostleap looked proudly her apprentice and jumped from her rock. Now he was older, she hadn't to stay with him all the time, he could go wherever he wanted without her. However, she had a look to the borders with Thunderclan, to be sure that no enemies could attack Redpaw. Then, after she was assured that the Sunnigrocks were safe, she turned toward the red-furred tom. « I want you to catch at least two fish and a roddent. It's not because we are Riverclan's cats that we have to hunt just fishes -what are we going tu eat if the river froze ? You have until sunset. Good luck. » Of course she would follow him, but he wouldn't know it.

ic- Redpaw leaped up the rocks, stalking along the crevices. Down a ridge he heard squeaking and slid into the space. He leaped for the small rodent. He misjudged his leap and the mouse raced into a crevice.

Redpaw padded up to the shore and waited for a fish to swim past. He hooked his paws and it went under water with his claws unsheathed. The fish slid between his claws and made a loud splash.

Redpaw padded downriver after the splashing. His eye caught a glimmer of pink in the corner of his eye. He unsheathed his claws and aimed for the fish. The salmon was scooped onto the shore and killed with a bite to it's spine.

Redpaw padded back to the rocks to wait. He hadn't had to catch mice before and was not terrific. Still, he crouched near a hole and lashed one paw out as soon as he saw the end of it's tail disappear from the hole. Irritation wavered through him. He missed horribly.

Redpaw sat back at the river and waited for a heatbeat for a fish to pass by him. He unsheathed his claws and aimed for the fish.

What was with him today? Did all the prey hate him? Redpaw padded back down the shore,m halting when he saw a small water vole. Crouch down he slid his paws over the pebbles and pounced. His eyes must have decieved him. Redpaw misjudged his leap and he stumbled in front of the vole instead of on it.


Redpaw padded farther down and sat by the river. He raised one paw and waited for a fish to past. When he saw a thick strip of pink he darted forward and aimed for the salmon.

Redpaw the salmon with his other fish. He sniffed the air and pinpointed another water vole. He slid his fore-paws over the grass and pounced on the mouse.

The wind obviously didn't like him. Before he could reach the mouse the wind turned towards the mouse, allowing it to smell him. Redpaw flicked his tail. He spotted a squirrel chewing noiselly near on a small boulder. He crept toward it, wind blowing in his face. He waited a heartbeat then leaped up towards the squirrel.He kncoked it off the perch and bit the back of it's neck quickly.
