A border patrol~

Coldkit's eyes were wide with pain and his mouth opened but no words came. He flattened his ears in fear.

He sighed and tried to hold back tears but the rain hid them. He picked up the kit and padded back over to the patrol. "Stormwing's...gone..." he choked out. He sat the kit down and put him under the curve of his body, shielding him from the rain. He leaned down "We'll take care of you. I promise" he meowed. I have to be strong..For Stormwing...for Coldkit. And for my future kits.

Coldkit was too chocked to speak. He just stared openly at nothing, shuddering like mad.

Finally he spoke. "C-Can Stormwing come back with us?" He choked out. "I don't want her to stay here....alone."

Raincloud stared down at Stormwing's cripled body underneath the tree. She had been so shocked she hadn't been able to speak at all. How could this happen? Her paws were trembling, fur prickling, ad eyes clouded with grief. "Stormwing?" she mewed softly with a shaky voice. Raincloud touched her nose to her former apprentices wet fur. Why? she dug her claws into the soft earth. Without a word, she pushed her body against the tree, putting her all of her weight into it, but the wet trunk wouldn't budge. Raincloud didn't give up though. She wasn't about to leave Stormwing here to become crowfood.

Suddenly a white flash slammed into the tree, causing a small yet splintering dent in the tree bark. Coldkit leaped onto the tree, digging long claws in and raking them down the bark. "Let my mommy go! Let her go! LET HER GO!!!" He shrieked, obliterating the bark. "Let her go..." He trailed off. "She has...to come home with us....and take care of me..." He whimpered, slumping down off the tree, onto his haunches.

A silent tear soaked into Raincloud's cheek fur as she heard Coldkit's yowling. This was just too much to take. They should've never gone on the patrol.

..And they all went home all sad like, ignoring the random rain around them :3

Minkfur was there still sitting by Stromwing's body. Sadness filled his eyes. "Raincloud, are you going to take Coldkit?" He mewed, his tone was cracking

"I suppose so," Raincloud mewed quietly.

"S-she was the only family I had left..." Minkfur mewed... He soon would be gone too.

Raincloud sat down besides Minkfur and gave his ear a comforting lick. "All of Skyclan is your family," she mewed quietly, "Don't forget that."

Minkfur's eyes were filled with water, "I-I, I will not..." He fell to his side, staring at the tree the hit Stormwing
