Foxpaw's Border Patrol

Bramblestar waited for Foxpaw at the entrance of the camp so that they could do his border patrol.

Foxpaw padded over "What are we doing today?" he asked.

"Well, since Stormwing is in the nursery I'll be doing your border patrol. Let's go." he said as they headed off towards their territory, "What can you smell?" he asked

"Prey" he purred "Lots of it!" he smiled.

"Good, now this is a border patrol so we can hunt for ourselves but leave more for the hunting patrols. Now, specify what type of prey there is." he said

He parted his jaws "Mice" he waited, then nodded "Yep,definitley mice" he mewed.

"Great, anything else?" he asked.

He paused "Hmm, maybe some birds deeper into the territory. Or trees" he meowed.

"Correct, the birds if you smell really closely are cardinals, bluejays, and mockingbirds. And yes there are some trees. Now, let's go over there." he said as they padded towards Highpines.

Foxpaw followed behind "I thought this was a border patrol?" he asked.

"Yes, I know. I'm doing this so that you can get even more used to the sounds and smells of our territory so if you smell something different you can report it quicker." he said as they finally reached the border of them and ShadowClan. "This, as you already know, is ShadowClan's scent. Remember it well because they are tricky cats that can cross our borders without us knowing. But we are SkyClan so that won't be happening any time soon." he said

He drank in the scent "Yea, Stormwing never showed me all the borders..." he meowed, remembering his mentor.

Bramblestar nodded then they left Highpines and headed to the Fallen Oak. "Now what do you smell?" he questioned

He rasied one eyebrow "Still prey" he laughed.

ic - Blackpaw was hiding behind a tree, waiting for one of them to smell or hear her. Am I that good? She thought, no, its probably just luck, she decided. She peered around the tree and saw the two cats, we're so close to the border, they could think I'm a ShadowClan cat by accident, if that happened it wouldnt go well... Blackpaw had a lot of things on her mind, she ducked back behind the tree before either cat could see her and waited.
