Hunting Time for Sagepaw!

Sagepaw nodded and tried his best to slick through the tall grass, following the scent of - what he now realized - was a large toad. When it had come into sight, Sagepaw held his breathe, not moving a muscle until he felt ready. At last he did, and he did pounce -

- and held the creature in his grasp. And yes, Eb is going to show off her lovely six, and Sagepaw caught the toad beautifully. He stomped down at the creature, the slimy prey unable to get away in time, and dug his claw in; He didn't want the poor creature to suffer, though, and ended it's life with one swift and hard bite.
When he stood back up straight, he was beaming. Sagepaw picked up the toad and took it back to Shadowstar. "Look, I caught it!" His voice was muffled by the catch in his jaws.

"That was perfect!" She mewed proudly, very impressed by Sagepaw's skill at catching that toad. "Wonderful catch! Now, bury that for later, and we will pick it back up on our way back to camp. Then, try again."

Now, knowing Eb's luck, the next roll will be a one.

Sagepaw purred lightly and nodded, setting the toad down and digging a spot in the dam mud. He place the toad in the small crater he had created and covered it back up. He assumed it was so nothing could steal the food that they had caught while they were away getting more.
The small apprentice breathed in more air and let the scents wash in, nodding to himself when he picked up the strong scent of a lizard. He got down low and crept through the grass once again, like he had done before, until he spotted his prey. Once again, he waited until he felt ready and made a leap for the creature.

The tom quickly unsheathed his claws mid-air and held the quick creature down. He ended it's life with a quick bite to the neck and set it down for a second to catch his breathe. Smiling, he thanked StarClan silently and picked the lizard back up.
With obvious pride, Sagepaw padded back to Shadowstar and set down his clean catch at her feet.

"Great catch!" She mewed as the apprentice came back to her. "You are a great hunter! But just to make sure, how about you try just one last time?"

just to see if you can get three sixes in a row XD

Challenge accepted.

Sagepaw nodded and buried his lizard. With a quick check of the air, he found his next victim and slicked smoothly back into the deep grass. By the edge of the muddy waters he spotted a small frog. The tom got down low and wiggled his haunches before pouncing after the creature, hoping to catch it before it hit the water.

Sagepaw landed on the ground and, for less than a moment, forgot how slick the mud at the water's edge was. He nearly slipped for a heartbeat, but quickly regained himself and caught the frog, ending it much like he did to the toad. He picked up the small creature and carried it back to Shadowstar.

Shadowstar was very impressed with Sagepaw's skills. Usually it took a lot longer than the first three tries for apprentices to catch more than one prey. "Okay, I think we have had enough hunting for the day. You obviously know what you're doing!" She purred, giving him a quick lick on the head out of pride. "Now let's grab the other prey and head back to camp."

Sagepaw tried not to let his happiness to much, but couldn't suppress a purr from his success, and such well praise from his leader. He took the frog and went and picked up the lizard and toad. With the two smaller ones hanging from his jaw, and the toad under his chin, he headed back to camp with Shadowstar.
