Boored....

Greypaw grabbed a toad of the fresh-kill pill. Quietly, she began to eat.

A small, newborn kit clamored out of the nursery, her eyes just recently opened. Blinking frequently to get used to the light shining in her eyes, she looked around the camp from the entrance of the nursery. "What.. What is.. is.. this?" She asked in an uncertain tone. It hadn't been very long since she had been able to speak so everything was still new to her.

"Shadowclan camp. I'm Greypaw, by the way." Greypaw meowed. "I haven't met you yet, what's your name?"

The small kit's head jerked around to where she heard the other voice. As her vision came into focus, she stared at the apprentice. "Greypaw," She echoed as she thought the name over as much as her little brain could. "I'm.. I'm, uh, Gin.. Ginger... Giinngeerrkit," She squeaked, sounding out the name her mother had given her. Then, using new paws, she slowly put one foot in front of the other until she was slowly walking towards Greypaw. The experience of everything moving around her was astounding, and the feel of this stuff in between her paw was strange. It was wet and squishy, but she didn't know what it was.

"Careful." Greypaw warned.

Gingerkit nodded as she finally reached Greypaw. "What is Shadowclan?" She asked her as she sat down to listen with perked up ears and large, cloudy blue/gray eyes.

"Shadowclan is the most feared clan of the five clans." she told the kit. "Some say we are cold-hearted, but we aren't."

"Five clans? So... Shadowclan is one. Who are the others? Are they... uh, cold-hearted?" She asked, stuttering on the last word. She didn't know too much, and it showed. "And, what does 'cold-hearted' mean?"

"They're not all cold-hearted, they're just like us..." Sagepaw couldn't help but hear and approach the cute little kit, "But they're still our enemies. A cold-hearted cat is someone who is really mean for no reason and only cares for themselves."

"The five clans are Shadowclan, Windclan, Thunderclan, Skyclan, and Riverclan." Greypaw put in, glancing at Sagepaw.

"Ooooohhh," She mewed, long and stretched out just like it has been typed. As soon as Sagepaw padded up, Gingerkit turned and looked at the small apprentice. "Who are you?" She squeaked. "You're not cold-hearted, are you?"

"I sure hope he isn't." Greypaw meowed.

"No, I'm not." Sagepaw smiled and bent down low, leveling his eyes to Gingerkit. "I'm Sagepaw. Greypaw and I are training to be warriors."

"Do't forget Shrikepaw and Dreamingpaw!" Greypaw added. On the outside, she looked normal, but on the inside her heart beat pretty fast agianst her chest.

As soon as Sagepaw was eye level, Gingerkit was confident in his answer that he wasn't mean. "A warrior?" She repeated curiously as she jumped back up to where she was on all four paws. "Like my mommy?!" She squeaked in a high-pitched, excited voice. She wanted to be just like her mom one day; maybe Sagepaw was talking about her and how Greypaw and he wanted to be like her too. But, once again, her short attention was caught by Greypaw. "Who is Sh..Shrikepaw and Dreamingpaw?"
