Nettlepaw had always been the adventurous type, always running around unsupervised and unattended. This was one of those times. The apprentice just happened to be prancing around beside the Thunderpathl, bored with her usual routine. Thinking a little highly of herself, she said "Maybe I'll get some kill for the clan." Which was an ignorant thought, seeing as she hadn't been properly taught how to hunt. But a little ways off was a small frog, jumping around. Clearly it had made it's way from the ShadowClan side of the Thunderpath, and seemed as lost as it looked. "Perfect." Grinned Nettlepaw, prancing up a couple of tail lenghts away. "I will catch this frog, and then I will go back to camp an apprentice prodigy." She crooned to herself, jumping at the frog. But the frog was fast and jumped onto the dark pavement of the Thunderpath, ignoring the distant roar. Nettlepaw gave a little hiss, and jumped after it, determined. She'd have him for sure. Another pounce, yet the frog was too quick. The roar got louder but Nettlepaw ignored it, never having associated this shakiness with a monster. The frog was only a few feet away, and Nettlepaw was about to jump when the brightness hit her. "What in the name of StarCl-?" Her sentence left unfinished, as the gory crunch of bones and a wail of pain cut her off. The only noise left was the last few breaths of dead apprentice.
