Nightpaw's Assessment

Shadowstar padded over to the apprentice's den. "Nightpaw! It's time for your assessment!" She called out to him, not bothering to see if the other apprentices were woken up by her or not.

Nightpaw leaped up and padded out "Good morning Shadowstar, how was your night?" he stood ready for his assessment still and proud but inside he was leaping into the sky again and again

She blinked at him. "It was fine. But let us go. Your assessment awaits," She mewed as she started out of the entrance of the camp.

Nightpaw ran after her until they reached the forest and stretched getting ready to hunt

"Alright, so this is for your assessment. You have until sundown to hunt. The goal is to catch as much prey as you can, and I will be watching you. Of course, you will not know that I am. You will hunt between Highpines and the Carrionplace. Go," She told him with a tired look on her face.

Nightpaw nodded and leaped into a bush disappearing then he quickly caught the smell of frog touched his nose he got in a hunting crouch and stalked it until he was about a fox-length away, then he leaped and grabbed it's head crushing it. He quickly buried it and moved on.

He then smelled a mouse and he stalked it until he was as close as he could get then he leaped and snatched the mouse up and tore a vein in it body somewhere killing it he buried it and moved on

Nightpaw then heard a thrush in the branch above him then he slowly stalked up the tree and balanced on the branch and thrust himself at the bird but he missed and landed on the ground with a thud and he rolled and snarled at the bird and moved on again

Shadowstar watched Nightpaw curiously. He was doing very well so far.

He then found the scent of rabbit and he slowly stalked and found it under a bush he leaped at it grabbing its head breaking it's neck he buried it and moved on.

Nightpaw then laughed lowly and smelled the air Hmmm...Carrionplace...Mouse! he found the mouse and stalked it and leaped and grabbed it and buried it suffocating it.
