Shrikekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Shadowsong padded up to the nursery and poked her head it. "Shrikekit, it's time for your apprentice ceremony!" She mewed before heading to the large rock. Once landing gracefully on top, she yowled. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Shrikekit trotted out happily, immediately bounding up. He'd been waiting or a long time. His tail swished back and forth.

"We are gathered here today to make Shrikekit an apprentice," she started. "Shrikekit, from now until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Shrikepaw."

Goldflame watched Shrikekit, who was now Shrikepaw. Goldflame's eyes twinkled when he remembered his ceremony. Shrikepaw had waited a long time, and he deserved to be an apprentice more than anything for his patience.

Shrikepaw closed his eyes momentarily, opening them again with a new spark of confidence.

She then glanced around at the gathering cats before her eyes settled on Seasonbreeze. "And your mentor shall be Seasonbreeze. I hope she will pass on her experience to you."

"Shrikiepaw! Shrikepaw! Shrikepaw!" Goldflame chanted loudly, smiling at the new apprentice warmly. He'd have liked to have an apprentice, but he'd only just been made a warrior and was still too inexperianced. "Congratulations, Shrikepaw!" the young warrior said happily to the new apprentice.

Shrikepaw touched noses with Seasonbreeze, and then Crowd surfed walked to his new den.
