What Else can Happen?

Shadowsong had gone into the warrior's den in the camp tired and ready to sleep. It had only been a short while since Shadowclan had lost Limestone and Ebonyroot and so there was still a sense of despair in the air. When she finally made it to her nest, she curled up and immediately found herself drifting off to sleep.

As soon as her eyes closed, they reopened in the somewhat familiar territory. It had been a long time since she woke up in Starclan territory but it still had a comforting feeling to it; it felt like home. As she stood up on her paws, she glanced around at the clear field that stretched around her endlessly in a soft sea of grass before she looked up at the dark clear sky lit up brightly with stars that belonged to the warrior ancestors. It was comforting to see the white specks again for she knew that they were at least watching her. As she stared up, she couldn't help but think of all of the cats she had known in her life that had joined Starclan before her. Of course, the first cat to come to mind was Ebonyroot followed by Blackraven and Limestone. Without them everything seemed... off. With a heavy sigh, Shadowsong looked back out in front of her and slowly padded through the grass enjoying the time of peace.

Blackraven saw Shadowsong looking miserable"Shadowsong.."He meowed with comfort "Is everything alright?.."He meowed.

Shadowsong glanced back to see Blackraven standing there. Suddenly, her heart leaped for joy as she ran up to him and pressed her nose against his shoulder. "Blackraven, it's so good to see you again!" She purred happily before she took a step back to look at him again. Suddenly everything came rushing back. Her ears fell back against her head as she looked down at the ground. "Kind of," She mewed. "It's just.. it's been hard in camp recently with Ebonyroot and Limestone joining Starclan..."

"You know, I suppose I should hold some sort of grudge against you for sharing the same den when we were kits... and then falling in love with my father." Ebonyroot padded into the clearing and up to the two cats, a warm smile on her face and a playful spark in her eyes.

Shadowsong suddenly turned to look at the young medicine cat with a new brightness in her eyes. It was honestly kind of strange to hear her voice again but the thought of being able to hear it was comforting. After listening to what she said, she took a couple steps back and looked down sheepishly. "I... yeah, probably..." She muttered softly before regaining her confidence. "But I'm so glad to see you again!"

"Think nothing of it, Shadowsong." The former medicine cat purred. While the scars remained on her body and her ear was still torn, she walked with a dainty stride once again, her body younger, as if were once again at the day she only just received her warrior name.
Ebonyroot nuzzled her friend gently. "And I'm so glad to see you too."

"I see Starclan has been treating you well. It's already quite strange to hear your voice again, although at the same time it's oddly refreshing," She purred before looking back at Blackraven. Two of her friends that had chosen the right path were now standing here in front of her once again. It took everything she had not to jump for joy like a kit.
