Deadstar yawned, and blinked his eyes open. Rays of sunlight were penetrating the lichen in what was now his den, and he got up and stretched. As he padded out of the den, he felt excitement bounce up inside him. He'd be training his first apprentice in a long time. He came to the apprentices' den and found Dawnpaw. He prodded her in the side. "Dawnpaw, wake up."

Dawnpaw stirred, and finally, woken. "Oh, hey Deadstar." She got up on her paws. "Time for training?" She mewed, excited.

Deadstar slipped out of the camp, and halted in a small hollow with a blanket of soft sand covering the ground. He swished his tail. "Alright, Dawnpaw. Are you ready to train?"

"Yes, yes! Flawless," he praised, and then moved on. "Next, we'll try the Front Paw Strike. In a battle, you'd have claws unsheathed, but not for training." He crouched, and his paw flew forward, toward the fern bush.

Dawnpaw preformed the Front Paw Strike on a fern, doing 6 Damage, and costing 10 Stamina.

She looked up at Deadstar to confirm she had performed correctly, eager to impress her leader.

Dawnpaw watched Deadstar perform the move, then approached the fern again.

Dawnpaw preformed Belly Rake on a fern, doing 7 Damage, and costing 10 Stamina.

The branches of the fern brushed against her leg, distracting her for a moment but Dawnpaw still pulled off the move.
