Morningpaw's Hunting Patrol

Nightecho padded up to the Apprentences den and called inside, "Morningpaw please come here." He meowed.

"What is it," mewed Morningpaw, walking up to him.

"Come on it's time for your Hunting Patrol." Meowed Nightecho before padding out of the camp.

"Ok" she said, walking after him.

Nightecho stopped in the middle of the forest and turned to face Morningpaw, "Oh now close your eyes and tell me what do you smell?" Mewed Nightpaw, "And be quiet about it otherwise you'll scare off all the prey."

Morningpaw closed her eyes and sniffed. "I can smell a mouse" she mewed.

"Now use your ears and tell me what direction it's in." Mewed Nightecho.

Morningpaw twitched her ears in the direction of the mouse and pointed with her tail to a bush "Over there."

"Very good not only were you able to tell what direction that mouse is in but you were able to tell me exactly were it was." Mewed Nightecho "now go catch that mouse but be quiet and light on you paws because mice will likely feel you paw steps long before it hears you."

"Ok," mewed Morningpaw quietly, stalking it then pouncing on the mouse.

"Good job sis you probably could have done that with your eyes closed." Mewed Nightecho, "Now bury it that way nothing comes along and steals it while were hunting ok."

"Ok," she mewed, putting down the mouse and burying it.

"Now close your eyes and tell me what else you smell and where is it." Mewed Nightecho

Morningpaw closed her eyes again and said "A rabbit."
