Boarpaw's ears pricked as Leopardstar's call summoned the clan, the large apprentice pushing himself to his paws to join the growing crowd. He wondered what it could be about, maybe a warrior ceremony? The leader's gaze seemed to dart about, looking for someone. Boarpaw began to copy, glancing around to the younger cats around him, wondering who might be the next warrior.

When her eyes met Boarpaw's, having clearly guessed this meeting was a ceremony but seemingly unsure of just who it was for, the leader nodded just slightly, not hesitating to speak.
"We are gathered here today to witness the naming of a new warrior. Boarpaw, please step forward."
She waited for him to do so with a small smile.
"I call upon the warriors of ShadowClan to gaze upon this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of our honorable code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in turn."
Regarding him with her usual curiosity, she held his gaze. Every apprentice's expression was different as they made their oath, if only in small ways.
"Boarpaw, do you swear to uphold the warrior code? To protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Boarpaw jolted when he heard his name called out, his eyes darting back to the leader with a mix of shock and awe. It was his ceremony? He was doing really well in his training, but he didn't really register that he was close to warriorhood until just now. He felt so unprepared!
He stepped forward, giving a small yet determined nod. "I swear it." Despite saying the words, becoming a warrior didn't feel real to him, like at any moment he would blink and wake up in the apprentice's den.

The shock on Boarpaw's face made the leader need to stifle a laugh. The ones who didn't expect it were always the most interesting to watch; whereas the apprentices who knew they were on the cusp of their ceremony tended to be ready and waiting.
"Then it is my honor to name you as a warrior before all of ShadowClan."
Leopardstar had thought for some time on a name that might suit Boarpaw, one that he might like; and while she couldn't ever be fully certain of how it would be received before it was spoken, at least in the moment she felt she'd made the right choice.
"From this day forward, you will be known as Boartusk. ShadowClan honors your calm and empathetic nature, and we are proud to welcome you as a warrior in your own right."
She leapt down from the top of the Jaggedrock, taking a few steps forward to touch her nose to his shoulder.
"Congratulations, Boartusk. You've earned your name. Go, and take some time to celebrate with your Clanmates before your vigil."

Boartusk... Boartusk was his name. It was just a title change, really nothing had been altered besides what cats called him and a new sense of responsibility, but the new warrior couldn't help but purr in pride hearing his new name. He was a warrior now and hopefully he could serve the clan as well as a warrior should. With the clan much smaller now, they would need the help.
Boarpaw offered a soft smile to the leader, giving a small nod of thanks before being ushered off to celebrate with his clanmates. Stars, what would he even do first as a warrior?
