Splotchpaw's Warrior Ceremony

It was time for another ceremony. Leaping onto the rock, Thrushstar yowled loudly to get the clan's attention. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Splotchpaw darted out of the apprentice den. She had a good feeling that this would be her warrior ceremony. She didn't exactly have hers at the same time as her sister because of her poor hunting skills but she was doing good now! The white, black, and grey she-cat finally reached the rock that Thrushstar was standing on. Her head was held high in pride as she waited for him to speak.

Scratchpaw yawned and clambered out of her nest. "Oh, Thrushstar. What do you want now? I was having a dream about a plump mou-" he mumbled, but was cut off when he felt Splotchpaw push past him. Her fur was groomed nicely, so he figured that she was going to become a warrior. Scratchpaw shook off moss scraps and quickly groomed a few patches of fur that were crazy-looking. The apprentice hurried out of the den and took a seat next to a few other cats.

"Tonight we gather to make this apprentice a warrior," he said loudly, looking down at Splotchpaw. "Splotchpaw, please step forward."

Splotchpaw almost leaped on her feet and took a large step forward, her eyes stayed focused on Thrushstar the whole time. She eagerly kneaded the ground in front of her, she just couldn't wait to hear her warrior name.

When the apprentice approached, Thrushstar continued. "Splotchpaw, do you promise to serve and protect your clan, even at the cost of your life?" He asked, seeing more and more of her father in her as he stared. He had to ignore it, but it was painfully obvious.

"I do." Splotchpaw said with all the calmness she could muster. She was way to eager to become a warrior. Freedom, hunting, fighting, and so much more just waiting for her!
