Poppyshine

Poppyshine and Bubblenose walked together along the border, improving the scent lines. Her tail twitched and she kept glancing across the border like she was expecting…something. SkyClan to appear, perhaps. Or ThunderClan and WindClan, suddenly hostile for no reason at all. Or a horde of rogues who had been taking up more and more space along their borders. She was not sure, but she was sure that it was simply paranoia. Paranoid thoughts took up more and more space in her mind lately.

She shook her head, trying to clear them and loo at Bubblenose instead. She had not been at the battle with SkyClan, but she knew that a lot of the clan was still shaken by news of everything that happened and the disruption of the alliance with SkyClan in the first place.

“How are you doing?” Poppyshine asked. “Have you been taking care of yourself?” It was shameful that Poppyshine was not paying as close of attention to her clanmates as she should have been.

bubblenose

Bubblenose had been treading lightly around her Clanmates, especially those that had been present in the war against SkyClan. She was never sure what sort of mood anyone was in nowadays, but it wasn't as if she could blame them. War, from what she knew of it, was scary, and bloodshed was never a pleasant sight. There had been many cats that had been offended and upset that they hadn't been picked to join the battle patrol, but the silver tabby had been rather relieved. That wasn't a thought that she would ever dare speak out loud to anyone that had actually fought that day, though. Bubblenose was aware of how insensitive that would be.

The warrior looked over at the deputy calmly and attempted to not let her gaze linger on any of her scars. "I think I've been alright, which honestly shocks me a bit. Maybe it's selfish of me to say that. I know a lot of RiverClan cats are struggling right now. I just wish there was more I could do to help everyone, y'know? Like, besides catching prey so everyone can eat and stuff. I wish I could help them... what word am I looking for? Mentally? Emotionally? Something like that."

Poppyshine

Poppyshine smiled at Bubblenose. Her answer honestly relieved her. Even those that had not been at war seemed to be struggling here and there, so having Bubblenose doing alright was a weight off of her shoulders. She replied, “I am glad that you’re doing alright. I don’t think it’s selfish at all. Things affect cats differently. I’m honestly glad that you’re not struggling.”

Her eyes crinkled a bit. Bubblenose was still a younger warrior, but she was so sweet. Poppyshine said, “I think anything helps, even if it is just catching prey. Some cats would benefit from a listening ear too, if you want to help them more emotionally. There’s unfortunately no herb that can cure a heavy heart—but a friend helps.”
