The warm spring breeze blew through the meadow grass as Sycamoreapaw stalked after some grasshoppers. He was fixated on a brown grasshopper and leapt towards it. It flew away into some nearby dandelions. He pranced over to the fluffy white plants when he noticed a lump of brown and the smell of freshly disturbed dirt.

After a long day of searching far and wide for his dearest missing sister, Daisyfang, Molehill found himself at the flower field. It hurt his heart knowing the former medicine cat would've loved to be here with him and he wanted nothing more than to find her. For now though, he'd searched high and low with no avail and knew that even he needed some rest. It's what she would've wanted... and what she would've told him to do.
Sitting among some budding dandelions, the plump brown tom had begun to mindlessly dig, his wide paws easily scraping against the earth. It wasn't until Sycamorepaw approached him that he snapped out of his daze-like state.
Looking back over his shoulder at the grey and while apprentice, he turned back to the disgruntled earth and flowers beneith his right paw. "Just digging, I guess," Molehill mewed simply in reply. We're apprentices not supposed to leave camp on their own? Perhaps his mentor was around here somewhere. If not though, he presumed it would be fine since he was with the younger tom and while he wasn't much of a talker, he accepted any sort of distraction from stressing over his sister.

Sycamorepaw sat down by the large brown tom and watched him briefly, before starting to dig at the ground beneath his paws. “What are you digging for?” He mewed curiously looking over his shoulder.
A worm wiggled between the young tom’s toe, bringing his attention back to his own small hole. A confused look swept across his face as he slipped his sharp claws into the slimy critter. ‘Isn’t supposed to die?’ He thought as he sank more of his claws in, and the worm kept wiggling. "I'm not quite sure," Molehill replied softly as he continued to bring up dirt from below his paws, further making his little hole larger and larger as time progressed. The apprentice was certainly a curious one, but he understood such curiosity in younger cats and didn't mind such company.
"It's just fun to me, I suppose," the plump tom added. Turning his gaze, he watched as Sycamorepaw played with a most yummy looking worm. "Their bodies are in segments, that's why they don't die right away. But they make a great snack," the warrior noted, having noticed the apprentice's puzzled look. Hopefully he wouldn't waste a snack even of that size and if so, he himself might just have to snag it from the younger tom. There was always room in his stomach for some grub.

Sycamorepaw looked up from the slimy critter in his claw, to the brown tom sitting beside him. He held the amber gaze of the older tom for a while before turning back to the worm. His nose crinkled, ‘Is he serious?’ He looked back at Molehill once more. The warrior looked like he was about to drool.
The young silvery tom broke off a piece of the pink worm and gave the section a few good chomps. Mucus from the segment covered the young apprentice’s mouth before he swallowed, and he sat for a few moments trying to wear the slime down. “Nope I’m good, you can have it!” He mewed with his tongue out. He quickly flung the nasty creature at Molehill.
He turned his attention back to the hole he was digging, a disgusted look planted on his face. He didn’t want to run across any more worms, but at least if he did, the warrior next to him would slurp them down. Sycamorepaw slowly and cautiously started to paw at the ground again.
