Prizes and (Blood) Losses [Semi-open]

OOC: This topic takes place after this one and is mostly closed, however Leopardstar (Holly) and Swiftheart (Speedy) are free to join if they so wish. So Leopard can find out what happened and also for Swift to hopefully come receive her bell but its fully up to them.

IC: Badgermask's arrival to the camp had not been a stealthy one - it was hard to be when every little movement caused a chiming noise from the golden object that had been lodged into the eye socket. Of course, even without the noise giving her way...It was hard to miss when the warrior came stumbling in, blood dripping down her ear, cheek and jaw. Despite her black, gray and orange pelt now being stained with bright crimson - not all of the wounds even visible thanks to the badger pelt draped across her back. There was a smile on her face - thought it was hard to see from the blood that still found its way dripping from her mouth from where her jaw had been split open.

Her gaze quickly found its way towards the medicine cat den, ears perking as she quickened up the pace and stumbled her way in - barely keeping herself from falling onto her face as she came to a stop just within. "Heatherberry!" she called out, her voice brighter than it had been in moons as the chiming echoed her voice. She was excited in a way she honestly never thought she would be again - to deliver such good news to her sister as she shifted to drop the pelt from her back, trying to ignore how the simple motion almost sent her crashing to the ground as her legs nearly gave out beneath her. "Look what I found while out!" she chirped, a little loud to try to speak over the ringing noise that was going a tad crazy as the pelt finally fell free from her and landed into a slightly mess pile next to her.

She smiled - showing off her blood stained teeth as she swayed, fighting off how tired she felt...At how the world spun around her and threatened to give way in her hopes, her desperation to see her sister's mood lifted, blissfully unaware in her blood-loss delusion of how her current state would have the opposite effect.

Camp was as quiet as waking hours could be with cats sharing tongues and rebuilding old nests. Heatherberry herself nosed around the freshkill pile for a nice mouse, having forced herself out of her den for a meal only when her stomach growled. To her dismay, not a single mouse could be found. Frogs and lizards piled high with the occasional black bird, but not a single mouse...? Her stomach grumbled as if to fuss that she was being picky when it was hungry, forcing her to grab frog if only to satiate her hunger.

Her ears flicked a few times as she settled down. "Do you hear that?" She mewed out to anyone near who would listen. The medicine cat could have sworn she heard a distant chime like the kittypet bell on the collar she had been forced to wear when she had been kidnapped by twolegs all those moons ago, but the cat beside her just shrugged in response. Her greying shoulders twitched as she tried to put the sound out of her mind, picking her frog up to retreat to the silence she knew awaited her in the medicine den.

Quietly, she chewed on her frog stopping to rise to her paws at the sound of her name being called by a familiar and welcomed voice: "Heatherberry!" It had been so long since Badgermask had called out with such a cheery tone that it hadn't even occurred to her that something could possibly be wrong. The curtains parted and she was met with a bloody grin and the stench of carrionplace, rouge, and the coppery scent of blood all at once. Her smile dropped as Heatherberry rushed forward, not making it in time to catch her sister as she fell; a pelt of sorts slipping off her spotted back, the annoying chime the medicine cat had heard earlier ringing obnoxiously throughout the den before it slowly died out. It took mere heartbeats for Heatherberry to set into action to round up cobwebs, horsetail, and poppyseed. Horsetail chewed rapidly and added to the cobwebs as she slathered them on Badgermask's turn ear and jaw, forcing her younger sister to chew the poppyseed to ease the pain she was sure to feel once she recovered. And she would recover. Heatherberry wouldn't allow any other outcome... Couldn't handle any other outcome.

Eventually, the slowed bleeding would come to a halt and the poppyseed's would soothe her sister into the sleep her body needed to heal. Her eye carefully watched the sweet smile that crept across Bagdermask's maw. "Oh, my dear sister. What has your voice so cheery when you're in this condition?" Her head turned to look at the heap of pelt and blood that lay beside the younger molly, leaning in to paw at it and causing that jingling to start up again: a badger's pelt. But not just any badger pelt. A one-eyed (at least, it had been until a golden ball was jammed into the socket) badger pelt that had gone missing in ShadowClan's absence. She had thought it lost forever... It would seem it hadn't been ransacked by rats after all! She returned to lean against her sister, nuzzling her nose against a bloodied cheek. While Heatherberry would love to scold her sibling for doing something so reckless, now would not be the time to kill the good mood Badgermask seemed to be in. "Thank you, Badgermask."
