Though she did not particularly enjoy going on patrols with her clanmates when she could be spending her time honing her skills individually, or protecting Dovetail or Perchstar, she was not going to complain as she had been paired with Larkspring. The tom was particularly hard to impress, but they had developed at least mutual neutrality after their spar. She understood his drive and mission to defend, having only ever seen the tom around their clanmate Cindersky. Had she any modicum of emotional intelligence, she would have likely teased him for his affinity towards the molly. Unfortunately, that was not a gift she had been bestowed by her late mother. The very one that he now subtly asked about.

She gave a simple blink in initial reply, looking at the clear waters before the both of them that had since been disturbed by his paw delving beneath its surface to retrieve a piece of their vital prey. "I revel in our victory, but sneer at what it had to cost our Clan." She looked at how it had left Littlesplash. How it had left Cindersky. Had now dedicated herself to becoming the sentinel before Perchstar, having recognized the affinity that her leader had towards her late mother. "Thunderclan's losses are their own to handle, but for Perchstar's and Riverclan's sake, I wish Mottlestar had survived. We should not have to sacrifice an ally because Mottlestar's successor was an ill-fit." Carefully, she had chosen her words. There was no affinity or loyalty in her heart to the Clan of bracken and brambles, only an affinity towards her kin. Only to Thrushnose. Not to Thunderclan.

A silver glint caught her own eye, a marbled paw quickly flashing to catch her own prey. Just as Larkspring had done, she easily made a successful catch of another particularly large fish.
