Ivypaw peeked through the medicine den, seeing his mother injured, curled up in a nest. Hurt, him. He padded closer and licked Comfreyheart’s ear lightly. Why did he have to worry so much for everything? He was trying to keep his life together, to stop it from ripping itself to pieces, and still, he was so, so young. He tried to be cheery and smiled at Comfrey. Everything felt so… hard. "Are you doing better, Mama?" he meowed gently, trying not to startle her. She still needed rest.

Dark paws stilled at the entrance of the medicine den as Ravenpaw paused there beside her brother, blue eyes wide and cautious when she peered into the darkness. She didn't like the medicine den - it smelled too strongly of herbs, and despite the medicine cats' best efforts to make it cheery and welcoming, Ravenpaw couldn't help but feel ssd every time she came to visit. She was happy to see her mother, of course, but the apprentice couldn't wait until Comfreyheart was out of here and back to regular duties, so she didn't have to visit here.

Ivypaw finally moved forward, and she only hesitated a second longer before following him inside. "Hi, Mama," she whispered, sinking down on to her belly, and crawling forward until she could tuck her head against Comfreyheart's chest. Ivypaw had asked the question she'd been thinking of, so she didn't bother repeating it - she'd just wait for Mama to answer.
