(un)familiar faces[C]

The Clans had only just returned to their territories, and already he was finding traces of them left and right outside their borders. It almost made him glad that he had implemented a rule to attack any that they caught, because Stars above were they an invasive species. He was lazying around in his own home with a freshly skinned badger's pelt beside him when he caught the whiff of one of those tree-climbers critters. The tabby peered down from where he was perched to see the shimmering pelt of a golden-furred warrior slinking through the snowy land below as if he belonged there. Ajex noted how easily the tom moved through the terrain, knowing exactly when to leap up two steps rather than one(one of them had a hole covered by dense ivy) and when to stick close to the den's walls(frozen shards sometimes dropped down from the roof). Had he been here before? Unfortunately, he did not have the luxery of asking Grub who in the forest that tom was, as the patch-furred tom was out on a hunt. Probably romantising with that pretty kittypet he seemed to have taken a fancy for.

Ajex dropped down from his perch to land squarely beside the tom, who he could now tell looked maybe a few seasons older than he was. "I didn't know we were expecting visitors," He greeted, his friendly facade lasting for only a heartbeat before he had thrown himself at the tom. His paws held the sleek-furred tom down as he regarded the tom. His pelt certainly would look pretty lining Ajex's nest, but he supposed he could spare the SkyClanner this one time in return for some answers.
