Brightpaw

Thunderclan | Male | Apprentice


A gentle breeze curled Brightpaw's fur. A perfect day to hunt as an apprentice. He didn't know if he could even call for a patrol, but for ThunderClan, he would. "Any ThunderClan cats who want to patrol with me can come along..." he meowed, unsure of what words he could use. He quickly shook his head, bounding into the bushes. What was he thinking, calling in a patrol like that?! He smelled mouse. Maybe he could make up for it. He remembered Berrypaw. His fur rose up, comforted by the thought of the SkyClan apprentice. What was he waiting for? He crouched after the mouse, his yellow eyes shining before he pounced. Waving his unsheathed claws in the air, he landed softly again. How rare. He sighed. He failed to catch something again. Well, whatever. He didn't make up for failing to catch the finch. He watched the mouse scamper away.

Sageroot welcomed the chance for a patrol, an opportunity to get away from the crowds for a minute. She watched as Brightpaw missed a mouse, keeping her ears trained on the prey. Maybe it had escaped once, but as she pinpointed its every move through the undergrowth the chances diminished of losing it again. When the scuffling slowed, telling her the mouse had let down its guard, she began her own hunt.

Of course, her luck wasn’t any better. The tabby’s paws didn’t know this land at all yet, and she stumbled, falling face-first into the dirt. The mouse disappeared down its hole.

A pounding of paws filled Sageroot’s consciousness, and before she could react the fox was upon her. Pain clouded her mind as the beast tore at her face.

Fox used Iron Bite, dealing 17 damage and costing 30 stamina.
Fox:
60/60 HP
150/180 SP (-30)

Sageroot (disabled)
18/35 HP (-17)
63/70 SP (-7 from hunt)

Never mind the edits, I had her stats wrong in my notes.
