Broken bones break no hearts (fawnshine)

Fawnshine's heart nearly stopped seeing the sight of the apprentice hobble rigorously into the medicine den, flashbacks swarming in her head in the reminder of how similar the state of Mottlestar's battered figure had been during previous feral dog attacks. Only this time, it was another one of her younger clanmates; Brightpaw, who suffered immense wounds caused by a badger. It bewildered her how he even was able to make his way back here standing still—though awkwardly and poorly so. Alone. But alive, nonetheless, and that was a miracle in itself.

"How in Silverpelt did you make it back like that?" She widened her eyes, hurrying to usher the young tom onto one of the moss nests. Grabbing some poppy seeds from the stone cracks inside the cave, she handed them in front of Brightpaw. "Eat these. They'll help numb your wounds while I work on them." Leaving that for him to handle, she turned her back and gathered more herbs out in order to clean and treat his injury.

Soaking some moss in the small pool of water trickling inside the cave, she gingerly cleaned his blood and set it aside for later. Fawnshine reached over for some stinging nettle and comfrey, chewing the soaked substance into a poultice before plastering it onto the damaged area and wrapping the cobweb around his broken leg like a cast. Propping his foreleg up on dry, wooden sticks, she wrapped it with bindweed to keep it elevated from pressure.

"You'll need to refrain from walking for one and a half moons. I'll inform Vinecrawler for you, as it's for the sake of your own health. This means that only small, supervised exercises, such as short walks and stretches will be allowed in the meantime." Fawnshine explained, speaking slowly and carefully. She knew it could occur as a shock for an apprentice to be withheld from his duties for such a long period of time—but it was for the sake of his safety only, and her duty as a medicine cat to do so. "Visit my den for checkups often, so I can know the progress of your healing."
