It wasn't unusual to walk in silence when a clanmate called for her; that's just how ShadowClan was. Even if she wasn't one to chatter nonstop, it was still a nice little break to just... Be quiet and take in her surroundings: birds, rodents, and lizards still skittered about the shed needles of the pine trees. The one thing making the silence even the slightest bit awkward, was Tawnyshadow herself. The she-cat kept casting glances in the medicine cats direction, opening her mouth as though she was going to say something, only to turn away and continue in her own heavy silence. Heatherberry had many moons to experience this very same behavior as any other cat who wished to know of a patient in her care, and this seemed to be no different when Skunkpaw still sat in a patients nest in her den. She couldn't really blame the warrior, though. Tawnyshadow only recently seemed to understand any form of empathy these days; especially after the deaths of Moondancer and Batswarm.

A black ear flicked as she watched the warrior swiftly dispatch some prey in passing, deciding that she might as well join in before breaching the subject for Tawnyshadow. In a low crouch, she watched a mouse as it picked through the fallen needles. With the previously honed skills of an experienced warrior, the mouse was dispatched swiftly. She felt a bit proud that she still had the skills of a hunter even now.

Now her eyes were trained on the calico she-cat that stood in front of her. "Speak your peace, Tawnyshadow. I don't think I can take much more of this awkward air you've made." Her tone was kind, though it still held a twinge of exasperation.

Ah. There it is. Heatherberry allowed a pause as she thought about her answer carefully, sitting down and wrapping a fluffy black tail around her large paws. "Well..." She sighed, unable to think of how to say this in a way that wouldn't upset Tawnyshadow further; nothing would cure the young tom of a lifetime of blindness. "Physically, he's just fine. " Her gaze turned to the grief-stricken warrior. As far as Heatherberry was concerned, Skunkpaw held no ill thoughts of Tawnyshadow. But that was not something for her to decide for him; he would need to have that conversation with his mentor at a later date.

"There is no cure for blindness, and he will never experience a normal life in the forest... But he knows and he understands that. He wants to continue to earn his warrior name, and is set to start his journey the moment his wounds heal. He understands his new limits, and I encourage you to speak to him yourself once his Moonstone is complete." Her eyes softened as she tapped Tawnyshadow on the shoulder with a dark paw. "I can't offer you the full comfort you need when the cat in question still hasn't had the chance to talk to you. I cannot speak for Skunkpaw when it comes to matters of the heart. Please. Speak to him soon."

Heatherberry gave a little sigh, nudging the poor warrior. "Don't be afraid to come and see me or Burdockroot, either. Your medicine cats still need friends, too, you know." She prodded the mouse she still needed to bring back. "Take your prey to Skunkpaw. I'm sure he's hungry by now. And also... Thank you for taking me out on this little hunt. I don't get to do this very often." With that, she grabbed her prey, turning only to make sure Tawnyshadow would return back to camp alongside her. Heatherberry may not be a warrior, but she was still trusted by Sablestrike to make sure the punishment of never being alone stayed true. "Come. Sablestrike would have my head if you didn't return with me."
