Acornstem smiled from where she was perched on the Highrock, tail swishing as she waited for her Clanmates to gather. Another sunrise, another apprentice ceremony - it was a relief to see ThunderClan steadily growing even if it was started to grow a little difficult to decide who was ready for an apprentice or not when there were many new apprentices on the way. Maplekit's ears perked up when she heard Acornstem call from Highrock. The fluffy brown she-cat bounded over to where she spotted a friend. The soon-to-be apprentice playfully bumped against the molly in greeting.
"Sageroot! Hi! Do you think it's my turn today?" she whispered to her friend, bright yellow eyes full of hope.
Seeing another cat not far from where they sat, she gave the she-cat a cheerful smile. "Goldenfern, hello!" she mewed politely. She'd never really gotten close with the warrior, but hoped to get to know her better soon.
To think that with a few words from the deputy, she could do so much more! Maplekit already had tons of ideas on how she planned to help around camp as an apprentice. Being a kit, she hadn't been able to do much, so it set her ablaze to imagine just how much there was to do. | Acornstem watched with a purr as Maplekit came from the nursery and was wasting little time bounding from cat to cat to greet those she was familiar with. A bundle of energy that one, it seemed - energy that would be well spent as an apprentice. "I've called you all here to celebrate and honor a kit who is ready to become an apprentice - Maplekit, please step forward."
She waited for the young kit to step forward, giving her a smile as she dipped her head in acknowledgement. "Maplekit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From today until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Maplepaw. Before Sageroot could reply, the meeting had started. Maplekit turned her attention to the deputy and suddenly her name was being mentioned. Happiness welled in her heart as she dutifully stepped towards Highrock. "Thank you!" the newly named apprentice mouthed to Acornstem. I'm an apprentice! I- I'm an apprentice! So... my mentor. Thrushnose. Right! Thrushnose had been sitting amongst the crowd, his eyes set upon the young to-be apprentice with anticipation as the announcement of her mentor was suddenly made, and his name was called out. The tom's eyes widened, pleasantly surprised to have the honor of being chosen as a mentor once again. He smiled, quick to rise to her paws, and approached Maplepaw.
"Congratulations on becoming an apprentice, Maplepaw." He pressed his nose against hers, excitement in his eyes for the she-cat. "We'll begin training at tomorrow afternoon. A tall brown warrior approached her and Maplepaw eagerly bounded towards him. She had seen him around camp, but remembered seeing him on one other occassion as well. He was there when Shrewpaw was giving out flowers!
"Will do. " Maplepaw gave Thrushnose a vigorous nod. Training tomorrow! Maybe she could get Pennypaw to give her a grand tour of the apprentices den. "See you tomorrow, Thrushnose!" she mewed.

| Her son had already led one apprentice into warriorhood, and she had full faith he would lead another. Proudly, the tortoiseshell padded over to the new mentor-apprentice duo, giving a welcoming wave of her tail and warm purr as she did. "Congratulations, Maplepaw. I know Thrushnose will teach you everything well." Warmly, she rubbed her head against her son's shoulder. Mottlestar couldn't quite help it - she was a rather affectionate cat.
