Cinderkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Perchstar leapt atop the Willow Branch, trying to mentally accustom herself to performing yet another apprentice ceremony. It was becoming difficult for her to find time for training her own apprentices, checking in with other warriors, and supervise the duties around camp when she needed to complete the ceremonies for the frankly absurd--yet encouraging--number of kits in the nursery. Hopefully Poppyshine would recover from her sore throat soon. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own fish gather for a Clan meeting."

Perchstar watched the crowd until she caught sight of the kit in question. Then she offered a quiet nod and beckoned with her tail, indicating that it was her turn to step forward. "Cinderkit, you have reached the age of six moons and you are ready to be apprenticed. From now on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Cinderpaw." She had already discussed with Poppyshine who would mentor the she-kit. Owlcall had agreed to receive as many apprentices as was necessary, and there were other senior warriors who could also do the job. Yet, for some reason, she felt her paws itching. Was it really right to overburden her own former apprentice in that way? She still had Rookpaw, it was true, and Lavenderpaw was technically under her own jurisdiction. But she wanted to make sure that if anyone had to bear the extra load, it would be her before it was her own warriors. With Owlcall having received her name, she had space in her schedule she could technically use. As much as she would like to spend it with her family... she found different words leaving her mouth. "I will be your mentor. I will do my best to pass all my knowledge onto you."

Leaping down, she ended the ceremony, touching her nose to the newly-named Cinderpaw's. Another apprentice. It was an effort, but she could do this. She would be as good of a mentor as she could. "Training begins tomorrow," Perchstar informed her new apprentice.
