Applespark faced his brother with his usual cocky smirk, his paws spread in a battle stance. He'd invited Sunflare out for a little friendly spar, under the guise of 'never being too prepared'. It was partially true, with the way things were going in the forest currently it would be wise for all of the warriors and apprentices to keep their skills sharp. The main reason though, was that he sort of... missed his brother. They had both been preoccupied with their duties lately, and they hadn't spent much time together. That, and Applespark would never turn down a chance to win a spar against the perpetually smug tom. Unwilling to let Sunflare make the first move, Applespark wasted no time in leaping at his brother, paws extended but claws carefully sheathed.

Sunflare accepted the sparring offer gladly, especially when it came from his brother. He hadn’t sparred with Applespark since they once again became equals in rank, and of course with a war looming any and all training was most welcome.
To be honest, Sunflare had expected Applespark to jump first. Predictably eager to win, as always. Sunflare wasn’t about to let him have the advantage, though. In a fluid motion, the cinnamon tom threw himself on the ground, ready to catch his brother with extended paws. His mark landed exactly where he wanted him. Sunflare couldn’t help but think what he could do if he unsheathed his claws right now. Of course he’d never seriously harm his brother, but if this were a battle with WindClan he would have a cat’s very life in his grip. Still, this wasn’t a real fight and the claws stayed in.

Sunflare used Belly Rake, dealing 15 damage and costing 25 stamina!

Applespark had intended to have the upper paw by striking first, but it seemed as though Sunflare was ready for him. He growled in frustration as his attack landed in an optimal position for Sunflare, wincing as paws battered his soft underbelly. Good thing they weren't using claws... He struggled free from his brother's grip, lunging once more, this time at the tom's sleek cinnamon tail. Gripping it between his jaws, he gave a fierce tug.

Applespark used Tail Yank, dealing 7 damage and -15 stamina, and stunning Sunflare for one turn.
