Poppyshine had not spoken with Morningkit much, but all the same, he was ready to be apprenticed. She rose to the Willow Branch and lifted her head to scan for the kit in question. When she spotted him, she announced, “Let all cats old enough to catch their own fish gather for a Clan meeting!”

Just outside the nursery, Morningkit sat, stubbornly ignoring Poppyshine's call to only those who can fish. It wasn't his fault he wasn't an apprentice yet, and the deputy couldn't really keep him from listening. Neatly wrapping his tail around his paws, he watched with curious yellow eyes.

Poppyshine looked at Morningkit with curious eyes and smiled invitingly at him when she caught his gaze. She nodded her head downward, silently inviting him over. When he came over, she began the ceremony properly.
“Morningkit, you have reached the age of six moons. It is now time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Morningpaw.” They had new warriors incoming quickly, and Poppyshine knew that taking on an apprentice was the best way to learn quickly. “Your mentor shall be Owlcall; may he instill you with the same encouragement and excitement that he has always displayed.”
The sound of his own name being mentioned sparked worry, then excitement in the kit's heart. It was about time he became an apprentice! Skipping towards the front of the crowd, he looked up to the deputy, eyes sparking and grin wide. Finally, he had a new name. Morningpaw. He liked it.
He padded up to Owlcall, beaming. "Hiya!"
