A Little Adventure [C]

Littlekit sighed as he sat in the nursery, dying of boredom. Silverwing went on a patrol so she couldnt even pester her mother to play with her. All the other kits were silently sleeping, or off exploring the camp. She decided to get off her fluffy butt and explore camp aswell. He mother wouldnt mind her leaving the nursery.... maybe.... ah who cares! Littlekit ran out and started to stick her nose in every single crack or crevice the camp had to offer. New scents, scenes, and even noises, came to her as she happily explored without a care in the world.

Whinchatkit peered out of the nursery entrance having just woken from a nap. Drawing a paw down over his face, he couldn't stop a yawn from escaping his mouth. What to do... what to do? Not wanting to disturb the other sleeping kits, he ventured out the den, lanky limbs stretching out from under him.

He loved the quiet times of day. Peaceful times when he could simply enjoy watching the sunlight dance through the leaves and feel the damp soil's cool touch on his paws. Not a few minutes into his solitude, a grey and white blur moved in and out of his vision. Another kit? The tom pressed his grey fur into the shadows, hoping to remain unnoticed.

Littlekit knew the tom was there but ignored him to continue what she was doing. She had found a flower and was smelling it. she couldnt tell what kind of flower it was, but it smelled really nice and looked very pretty. Just then a gust of wind came and the pollen got to her nose. She let out a cute sneeze, with a shake of her head, and then noticed a leaf had fallen perfectly on the flower. Littlekit couldnt believe her eyes and instantly started to stare even more intentsly at the flower, seeing if the leaf would move off the flower.

Whinchatkit silently watched the kit dash to and fro, stopping to smell a flower. He felt a little irritated as she was obstructing his view, but he had a heart to smile when she sneezed. Why is she so interested in a flower? The tom thought of calling out to the... flower..kit.

"Flowerkit-" he called softly, but the wind carried his voice away. Seeing as she hadn't heard, he shrank back, tail flicking with unease.

Littlekit heard a faint sound but couldnt tell where it came from. She looked around before realizing it probably came from the tom, how had she not invited him over yet. Come here, this leaf landed perfectly on the flower." she mewed going back to look at the flower.

Whinchatkit hesitated before taking a few tentative steps toward the flowerkit. Upon closer inspection and the kit's gesturing, he saw how perfectly the leaf balanced on the flower. It was a pretty white flower, the same color as the flowerkit's fur. He would never say it aloud, but he had to admit it was pretty cool.

Inching forward, his yellow eyes grew mesmerized by the leaf on the flower and a tiny smile had crept up on his face. Despite the two being around the same age, Whinchatkit towered over the other kit by another head. What he had in height however, he lacked in width. Skinny as a stick, he looked like he could topple over at a gust of wind.

Littlekit smiled when the tom came over and looked interested in the flower. But her smile soon faded as another gust of wind came, knocking the leaf off the flower. "aweee it was so pretty. Hmmm now what to do? Oh hey i never got your name." she mewed turning to stare at him, now realizing he was taller than her.

As soon as the leaf fell to the ground, the tom noticed the flowerkit had lost her smile. Something about this kit made the tom want to bring that smile back. He immediately searched for a new leaf to place on the flower. Almost missing the other kit's question, he absent-mindedly replied: "Whinchatkit." He soon spotted a fallen leaf and swiped up, hooking it onto the tip of his claw. "Flowerkit. Here." he said, holding the leaf towards her.

Littlekit looked ag him with confusion for a second and then realized what he said. "Thats a hard to say name, also why are you calling me flowerkit? My name is Littlekit." She mewed confused but still found it a little funny. She never had a cat call her a different name before.

Whinchatkit's paw clutching the leaf wavered. "It's not that hard to say... I mean... It's just whin.. ...chat ..kit. Right?" he trailed off, ears twitching uncomfortably. "Wait, your name isn't Flowerkit? I guess I just saw you watching that flower.. and.. and.. it stuck?" Already the tom had made a great first impression. He inwardly grimaced after realizing he had in fact never asked for her name.

She smiled at him with a small giggle. "You can call me flower, no one else is allowed though!" she mewed with a hint of seriousness in her tone. She didnt know if a small nickname was even allowed but it would be something nice to have between friends. Even though she only just met him, she could tell they would be good friends.

"Flower it is." he agreed. Satisfied with seeing her smile again, he shook the leaf off his paw and turned back to the flower. "You can call me... Whin. Or Whinny? I like Whin."

She smiled happily as she didnt have to try to say his name. "okay Whin, what do yoy wanna do?" she mewed started to get bored again.

The tom glanced at the medicine den, then at the elders' den. "I've been itching to see what's in the medicine den, but I really don't want to disturb anyone..." he replied. We could visit the elders, but what if they're sleeping? It would be disrespectful to barge in...

Littlekit thought about it for a second and saw him look towards the elder den. "Hehywhin, lets go hear elder stories." she mewed happily as she wanted to meet more cats.
