Renewed Hope[Open to Blaze/Day Family]

Copperkit woke to the scent of morning dew and grass. The small tortoiseshell, only a moon old, trotted out of the nursery to meet the scents. She took a deep breath, appreciating the unusual calmness of the camp so early in the morning, when only a few warriors were out and about, and the sun's rays had yet to reach its peak. Such a common occurance, yet so rare at the same time... Copperkit found herself heading back to the nursery to wake her littermates and try to share such an experience with them.

Stepping onto the feather-soft moss of Blazefang's nest, she gently nosed Shrewkit and Cloudykit awake. "Come on, I want to show you something," She whispered, before leaving as silently as she had entered. Stepping back out into the pale morning light, Copperkit found a delicate daisy poking out from beside the nursery entrance. She picked it up gently in her teeth and turned to present it to her family; such a beautiful flower was sure to earn a few praises.

Copperkit's initial departure from their nest had been enough to wake Shrewkit, though it had not been enough to keep her up. The kit had kept her eyes open just long enough to see her sister leave the nursery before closing them again. She didn't get the opportunity to fall back asleep however, as it seemed that Copperkit had found something worth waking her over. Stretching as she rose, Shrewkit padded out of the nursery, still blinking away sleep as her sister presented something... Prey? No, that wasn't right. It was... A gasp escaped the golden kit as her vision finally focused. "Copper, it's so pretty! Where did you find it?" Shrewkit stared wide eyed at the flower, her mouth stuck slightly open. It was the second most beautiful thing she'd ever seen in her short life, and she wanted one too!

To her relief, Shrewkit too found the daisy to be pretty. For just a heartbeat, Copperkit had convinced herself that her actions were far too brash and even arrogant. Silly me, making such a big deal out of a few words, she thought, smiling to herself as she tried to calm her pounding heart. The tortoiseshell placed the daisy gently behind her sister's ears, before stepping back to admire the view. "I found it outside the nursery," She replied, then added, "It looks very pretty on you."

Personally, Copperkit thinks that she was the most beautiful of the litter, but she would never admit even to herself that she would think that. As far as she was concerned, she could easily be the worst in the litter, and everyone else was just calling her pretty because they pitied her.

The kit's eyes only grew wider as her sister relinquished the flower. Shrewkit let out a tiny squeal, still trying to be quiet so as to not wake their mother, but stars was it hard! "Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you so much sis!" She was practically bouncing with joy as she attacked her sister with a flurry of nuzzles and affectionate licks. Another gasp stopped her show of love, a really good idea popping into her head. "Copper! When we become apprentices let's go find a bunch of flowers! Then we can match!" As an afterthought, she added "Cloudykit can join us too, if he ever gets him rump out here."

Copperkit couldn't help but smile as well. "I love you too," she purred, though she didn't move to lick or nuzzle Shrewkit. The thought of her apprentice ceremony sent shivers down her spine. I don't think I ever want to be an apprentice, let alone a warrior. I'm happy with how my life is now...

Still, Copperkit nodded to Shrewkit's words. "Let's go find flowers now, so when Cloudykit and Blazefand wakes up we can all match," She suggested.

Cloudykit was woken by the sound of chattering outside the nursery. The white ball of fluff was tucked deep in Blazefang's fur, and he wasn't all that eager to move. Still, the excited squeals outside eventually won over his curiosity and the kit pulled himself away from the warm nest. Opening his mouth in a wide yawn, he blinked at his sisters with bleary eyes. "Did I miss something?" He asked softly.

Of course! Blazefang and Cloudykit were bound to be jealous of her flower! It was only fair that they all get one now. "Lead the way! I can't wait to pick a whole bunch of flowers!" Would Blazefang praise them for bringing her gifts? Would she love them more than she already did? Shrewkit wasn't sure, but she was excited to find out.

A white form emerged from the mouth of the nursery, clearly as sleepy as she had been just moments before. "Yeah you did sleepy head! Look at this, Copper gave it to me!" The golden kit inclined her head towards her brother to show off the daisy resting where Copperkit had placed it. "Super pretty, right? We're gonna go find some more so we can all match, and then we're gonna give some to mama too!" Shrewkit didn't want Dayquill to feel left out of this, however. She would bring him a flower later.

Copperkit was about to start the search for flowers when what looked like a giant white mossball made it's way to them. Oh, it was just Cloudykit. She flicked her tail as Shrewkit explained to him what they would be doing. "And Goldenfern. We should give flowers to Blazefang, Dayquill, Sparkpaw and Goldenfern," She added. It didn't seem fair to only have some of their family get flowers, when they were all one big family. If only she could reach up to the stars to give Sunfire, Salamanderpaw and Maplekit a flower too.

With all that said, the little tortoiseshell began leading the miniture patrol around camp, careful to sniff in every corner to check for the small, delicate petals. It sure was a funny sight: Copperkit, the smallest and leanest of the litter, in the lead, Shrewkit behind, and Cloudykit, the biggest in the litter, bringing up the rear. At last, after a few moments of brushing away fronds of ferns, she found a small cluster of flowers, each petal a dark, rich blue, and with a yellow center. "Look," She called to her littermates excitedly, "Do you think these will be enough for everyone? If we have extras we can give them to Dayquill's siblings as well. They are our kin, aren't they?"
