A new day, a new hope[Open]

Copperkit had been awake for some time. It was still dark outside, though the sky was slowly lightening as dawn spread out in a slow, golden wave of light. I wonder why we do things during the day, but sleep at night… the little tortoiseshell thought to herself. It would be nice to play around at night sometimes. The sun was always too bright and gave her the most horrible of headaches. Come to think of it, who decided that when it’s lighter out it’s called day, but when it’s darker out it’s called night? How did anything get its name? Who decided to call a small grey lump a rock, a smoother one a pebble, but not cloud or night or glow? It was with these questions in mind that the little she-kit watched the sun rise in the distance.
