As The Sun Rises[C]

Tawnyshadow slid soundlessly into the nursery, her eyes seeking out a certain silver tortoiseshell pelt. "Dawnkit?" she called softly, as she beckoned Sunflare into the nursery. She wanted him to meet her ward, for reasons she couldn't explain. Perhaps it was because she always found herself enjoying Sunflare's company, and wanted to share with him another highlight of her day. Perhaps it was because she felt that Dawnkit needed to meet another member of the clan, especially a cat that could be her future mentor.

As the she-kit scampered closer to her, Tawnyshadow sat down and introduced the two. "Dawnkit, meet Sunflare. Sunflare, meet Dawnkit," She mewed, then waited with baited breath for the two of them to say something.

Dawnkit was just having a nice nap when she woke to the sound of Tawnyshadow's soft steps entering the nursery. She sensed an unfamiliar cat with her and opened her eyes wearily. She saw Tawnyshadow, with a lean cinnamon tom.

"Uh... Hi..." Dawnkit shyly started, "I'm Dawnkit..." Her bright amber eyes glanced curiously at the sleek cat., swishing her bushy tail while waiting for a reply.

“Greetings, young one,” Sunflare mewed. To be honest, he didn’t really know how to talk to kits. But he’d try, for Tawnyshadow. “I am Sunflare, one of ShadowClan’s newest warriors and an heir to the legacy of Froststar.”

Right... now what? Tawnyshadow wasn't the best at socializing, truth to be told. She had been hoping that the conversation would carry on by itself, but guess not. Tawnyshadow awkwardly shifted her paws and put an over-eager voice, "Well, let's play a game! Any suggestions, Sunflare, Dawnkit?" Please, please, please suggest something, she mentally begged.
