Tail fluttering with excitement, Silverkit slipped out of the nursery. He walked with purpose now as he marched out of the den. There was one cat in particular he was looking for: that big, golden-furred tom that was brought back after the dog attack and had been clinging to Iceheart’s side since. Honeylight. He was plenty familiar with the tom, though Silverkit hadn’t had the chance– or proper desire –to speak with him.
He’d been bored of sitting inside today though, and figured he’d had nothing better to do. It wasn’t hard to spot Honeylight in camp, Silverkit trotted briskly up to the warrior once he had. Clearing his throat, he smiled wide and chirped, “Hi, Honeylight! You spent a lot of time with Iceheart, before she moved into the nursery. You’re hers, right? You know… actually, I think she said you’d make a good mentor once.” A range of expressions, enthused to thoughtful, passed his features. With a shake, he cleared the lingering pensiveness and returned to smiling. “I think. Well, whatever it was, hi! I’m Silverkit. I like her, so I should probably get to know you. Right?”

Honeylight

Honeylight had just finished with a hunt, and he was contentedly stretching himself out, enjoying the late afternoon sun when there was a little voice suddenly to his side. He turned his head and blinked down at the little scrap of fur that was talking to him. Oh, yeah! He had seen the little guy hanging around his mom a lot when she was in camp. It made his chest warm to be referred to as ‘Iceheart’s’. Yeah, he was her son! How awesome is that? He’s still not over it.
Even if he’s still not buying Iceheart’s belief in his ability to be a mentor, given everything, it makes him feel happy to think she said so to other cats, too. “Well hey there!” He said. Instead of sitting down properly he laid down all the way so he could meet the kit's eyes instead of craning his head down. “It’s nice to meet you, Silverkit. I am Iceheart’s! She’s my mom.” He purred at that.
“I’d love to get to know you. What kind of stuff do you wanna know about me?” Honeylight said. “You and ma must’ve met while I was away! It’s nice to meet you properly.”
