Testing of the Metal

Swiftheart had her usual energy and excitment as she picked up the trail of the fox that she had been pursing. She had long awaited this chance that now was upcoming. The warriors with her were instructed to allow her to fight the fox one on one unless she needed help. She hoped it wouldnt come to that. A nervous pit was in her tummy but she did her best to just focus on the task at paw as she continued forward.


The fox: a hard preator for her to face. A long standing fear she had with it. It had nearly killed her and her brother and their friend Ratrunner so long ago and ever since then she always dreaded them. But now, she would face that fear head on and she would overcome it. Not only that, she planned to defeat this fox so soundly that she would never have to question herself on such things.


And there it was. It was cornered and the only way out for it was through her. And that was not going to happen. Reports of this fox causing trouble for patrols had come in earlier this week. An apprentice (some npc) had been badly wounded from it and another warrior nearly killed... this ended here. She dug her claws out into the mucky ground below her as the moon shown bright overhead giving plenty of light for all.

They stared each other down until they both attacked!


She struck out hard and fast dealing a massive blow to the fox as it bit back at her!

Swiftheart hissed in pain backing up slightly to put distance temporarly.  The fox whimpered as well both opponents resizing the other up looking for an opening.  The fox lunged! But swiftheart was smaller and quicker and dodged out of the way and prepared a counter attack as well!

The counter attack failed as well leaving both fighters with a miss as they circled each other again back to square one

Swiftheart was much more experience fighter than her opponent and saw an opening, with a hard strike she stunned the fox! Raking her claws across its nose

Swiftheart uses Experienced steps for 8 dmg and 10 sp

The fox cannot attack this turn due to stun.

The fox shook its head refocusing from the stun of a hit and growled. It brute forced its way forward. Argably a poor move leaving itself wide open but it took its bigger size and bit into swiftheart's shoulder digging in.

Swiftheart whimpered the pain sharp but lashed back out with claws of her own raking along the fox opening it up and spilling alot of its blood. It had taken a bold move coming straight at her and she was making it pay severaly.

Both could feel that the other one was taking quite a bit of damage and both of them wanted to push the advantage they felt they had.

Grinning as the fox made another mistake Swiftheart felt below her the goozing swamp mud that was her home.

Before the fox knew anything else it was blinded by a coat of mud as it stumbled over its own paws disoriented as heavy claws dug into the fox next.

The fox squirmed wiping away the mud in a fury as it was now getting desperate. It bit into swiftheart again and she bit back just as hard both of them going for each others throats!

The fox whimpered trying to limp away as it gasped for breath its hateful eyes looking up at the cat that stood over it.

Swiftheart shook her head. You will cause no one else pain, you will hurt no more of my clanmates.


Raising a paw with claws razor sharp she swung down hard across the foxes throat. It was over a second later as the fox fell limp to the swampy ground.

Swiftheart breathed heavily panting. Her wounds bled but it was nothing life threatening. It hurt alot as she licked at them. She got the bleeding mostly stopped as she hoisted the fox up and back to camp.


Over the next couple days, she would work on getting the pelt of the fox until she had it very nicely removed and in fine condition. It glistened nicely in the sun.

Whenever she looked at it, she felt no longer scared of the fox. She was reminded how far as a warrior she had come and that the fox that once used to be able to bully her, night and rat was now nothing more than a nice comfy liner for her nest.
