Sparrowpaw's Moonstone Journey

Batsong gathered more traveling herbs.  IT was great to see that windclan was getting more and more apprentices ready for their moonstone.  Batsong really was liking these more and more.  It let her make sure all the apprentices were okay and were getting along with their mentors and such.

She led Sparrowpaw through the moors to the stone.

Sparrowpaw was kinda quiet like herself and Batsong was fine with that.  She knew that Sparrow was very close with her siblings just by watching the group of apprentices growing up together.

A short while later and boom! they were at the stone.

Batsong gave a gentle and caring lick to Sparrow's forehead.

"t-there, n-now sleep and y-your starclan cat will come to you wh-when you touch nose to the s-stone"
she stuttered quietly and gently.  The med cat was one of the most gentle and caring.  She loved all of her clanmates and getting to care for them all was so rewarding.

Sparrowpaw hadn't expected Batsong to drop traveling herbs at her paws but was glad she did. The apprentice was beginning to wonder when she and her siblings would finally be going on their trips to the Highstones.

The trip was blissfully short, thanks in part to Windclan's proximity to the stone, but also because Batsong didn't try to make small talk with her. That was a good choice on her part, Sparrowpaw wouldn't have reciprocated in any meaningful way. Maybe a grunt here or there, but she wasn't quite in the mood for conversation.

Her small form made it easy to make it through the tunnel leading to the Moonstone. For a brief moment, Sparrowpaw couldn't help but enjoy it, the dark and the dirt. Maybe she had gotten it from her mother. Then, light at the end of the tunnel, and in a good way. The Moonstone was... well, bright. A bit too bright. As incredible as it looked, Sparrowpaw couldn't say she liked it much.

As she admired the stone, a lick on her head! Her head! She was bewildered, utterly shocked! With wide eyes, Sparrowpaw looked up at Batsong, who just explained what she had to do. "I- I, uh-" It was as if she had been short-circuited. "...thanks." Swiftly, she plopped down next to the stone, sticking her nose to it. For a while, nothing happened. Then she felt sleep tug at the back of her mind, and surrendered to it quickly.

Having been sharing-tongues with his family under a large oak tree Rye noticed a shape begin to appear not too far away from them. He assumed it was an apprentice here for their moonstone, and usually Ryecloud wasn't the type to go and give them wisdom, but with a glance from his sister who laid next to him, he could tell that she wanted him to do this one, for whatever reason. He was anything but good when it came to talking or even just interacting with other cats, but knew that she wasn't going to let this go.

Pushing himself up, the deformed tom began to hobble his way over to the stranger. Unlike other cats who'd been mangled in the world of the living due to an accident, Rye had been born with his crooked jaw and stiff leg, and he hadn't been granted the pleasure of being more... "normal," even in StarClan. Of course, there was no pain up here which was a plus, honestly not having to deal with the stiffness of his joints and his back leg was good enough for him.

"Hewo," the crooked jawed tom mewed as he approached the apprentice, his grey and white pelt shimmering among the surrounding stars. "Hwere fo moonstobe?" he asked, though of course he had already assumed that was what the younger cat was there for.
