Mottlestar let out a warm purr as she lept atop the highrock. It felt like newleaf was just on the horizon, with the snow no longer so densely blanketing the forest floor. It was time to commend yet another apprentice that had earned their name, and she was more than enthusiastic to do so. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Blazefang was quick to heed the call. There were plenty of apprentices in the den, but she just had a feeling this was for one of her kits.

Sunpaw bounded into the clearing, his ginger pelt flashing like fire.

As soon as the apprentice in question appeared, Mottlestar wasted no time in waving her tail to silence the clan to continue the ceremony. "Thunderclan, it is time for us to welcome yet another apprentice into the warrior den. They all have trained hard, and I see no reason for that not to be commended. Sunpaw, please step forward." Her words were there to allow her Clan to finish gathering, and once they had and the apprentice in question stepped forward, Mottlestar sat. "Sunpaw, do you promise to protect and serve your Clan from this day forth, even at the cost of your life?" That final question hinged whether or not the young apprentice would get his name or not. She saw no reason for the young tom not to say yes, and part of her wished to skip this customary part sometimes. But tradition was tradition, and they could host no traitors in their clan. Even if she knew Starlingflare had trained the tom well.

Sunpaw could hardly hide the excitement that seemed like was going to burst out of him any moment. "I do," he mewed, his eyes sparkling as he awaited his new name.

Mottlestar gave a dip of her head. "Then by the powers given to me by Starclan, from this day forth, you shall be known as Sunfire. Thunderclan honors your positivity and courage. Tonight, while the clan sleeps, you shall sit in silent vigil and watch over your Clan. But for now, we celebrate." She purred. Her voice called easily, swiftly.

"Thunderclan, welcome your newest warrior, Sunfire!"

Sunfire raised his head proudly at his new name, his paws tingling as it was picked up by his clanmates, cheered over and over again. He dipped his head to Mottledstar, and whispered a soft, "thank you."
