Serpent Slayer [SOLO]

Darkspirit had heard chatter from other warriors about snakes re-emerging at the snake rocks, which was why he was here. This was where the medicine cats gathered the most herbs. Without a medicine cat, the clan would be in real trouble. Darkspirit didn't have much experience with snakes, but without any real threats to the forest as a whole wandering around, it couldn't hurt to try to neutralize the little threats. Fairly confident he could keep on his toes, Darkspirit kept an eye out for the slithering little fiends. The young tom did underestimate the ability of a snake to blend in with it's environment however. On top of that, the day was beginning to grow cold, so the snakes weren't moving much at all.

Darkspirit stepped too close. A snake, thankfully a harmless one, struck out at him and held onto his paw. The cold reptile was attracted to the warmth and clung desperately... and stupidly, to it's target. Darkspirit on the other hand... completely lost his mind and flailed his claws like a mad man. He had to kill it right now or he was going to get poisoned and die! What a way to go... to a stupid, legless, unblinking simpleton of an animal...

After Darkspirit struck the final blow on the snake, it was only then that he realized that his paw hardly hurt at all. That meant the snake was not venomous at least. He sat down and panted for a moment, trying to let his adrenaline wear off now that it was no longer necessary. After taking a few moments for himself, the warrior picked up the snake and headed back to camp. He was absolutely not about to tell anyone how badly he panicked just now. Nope. That was a secret for himself and the trees.
