Firepaw's few times hunting had often ended in failure, either due to his own ineptitude or outside forces. It infuriated him. He would be better- no, he had to be better. Thankfully, he had been assigned to a hunting patrol, because he didn't think he'd ever work up the nerve to ask his clanmates to hunt himself. Waiting quietly near the entrance to camp, bright eyes watched for the approach of his clanmates.
Once they had all appeared, they set off through the territory. Though cold, the sun filtered through the trees, giving a small amount of warmth to the cats beneath. Firepaw cautiously stepped around fallen branches, wary of twolegs. He had heard the horror stories, and he was not about to be the next one captured... he had things to learn. The scent of a bird caught his attention, however, taking his mind off the potential threat. With what he had been taught by Moonlily, the apprentice crouched down, stalked forward, and leaped, claws aimed for feathers and flesh.
Razor sharp claws made contact with the unaware bird, and Firepaw dispatched it quickly. Burying it, he returned to the patrol, quietly mewing to himself, "One".

Creamsky couldn't deny he was nervous - although it didn't show on his face as he approached his awaiting patrol. It was his first time being set in charge of one, making it his job to keep an eye on apprentices...A few who honestly weren't that much younger than himself. Firepaw was the first to arrive - being there even before Creamsky was but once the other two apprentices had approached, he beckoned them to follow him as he led them into the territory proper. "Remember, don't go too far from the patrol - this might be our territory but its best we remain on edge. You run into trouble of any kind, you call for help, alright?" he meowed as they walked, sparing a glance at them. He glanced over as Firepaw slipped away from the group - before returning shortly with a bird. The young warrior gave a nod of his head in approval.

Amberpaw skipped into SkyClan territory. She wasn't born in this territory, but she was ecstatic to finally get a chance to hunt here. Creamsky, the warrior who had to accompany them on this hunting patrol, seemed to be telling them something about not going too far from the patrol - stuff she kinda was aware of already. "Yeah, yeah, I know, call for help if there's any trouble, got it," she scoffed. Just because he's a warrior now didn't mean that he had to boss her around all the time.
Catching the scent of a squirrel nearby, the ginger she-cat crouched into her hunter's stance, stepping softly on the snow as she silently approached it. She could see it now, its long bushy tail, its black beady eyes, the acorn it had just dug out of a hole. She needed to make sure she caught it without it noticing - or if it did notice, beat it to the tree it was closest to. As she got into pouncing range, she coiled her legs, before springing forward at the unsuspecting squirrel. Quickly nipping its neck, the young she-cat dug a hole to store it in (ironically, just like the acorn it had just dug up) before searching for another piece of prey to catch.
Amberpaw attempted to catch a squirrel, costing 5 stamina. Catch was a success!

Stonepaw too, had joined the hunting patrol, saying little as she followed Creamsky and Firepaw out of camp. Saying little wasn't unusual for her by any means, but her usual expression had been replaced by one of mixed curiosity and wariness as the Skyclanners ventured into the territory. "Noted." Stonepaw responded softly to Creamsky's warning. Her mentor had shown her some of the territory, but so much of it was still unfamiliar to the apprentice. It was very different to fourtrees, the ground beneath harsher, the trees taller.
As her clanmates began to find prey of their own, Stonepaw caught the scent of a bird, carefully making her way toward it. The bird was sitting on a branch above, and Stonepaw sank her claws into the bark, carefully making her way toward her intended target. The twolegs didn't seem to be able to put traps in the trees, as far as she knew, so hunting within their reaches was better than hunting on the ground, even if it came with risks too. Today however, she caught her prey swiftly, carefully dropping back to the earth below to bury her catch and returning to her clanmates.

Firepaw jumped a bit as he heard Creamsky's voice, giving a quick nod in acknowledgment. He still wished he could do things alone, but maybe he was getting a bit better about socializing with clanmates. Well, at least existing around them was a start. Breaking off again, the tom dropped into his loose form of the hunter's crouch, swearing to ask Moonlily for refreshers on it the next time they trained. Stalking toward a bird, the tom exhaled slowly, preparing himself for a swift climb into a low branch.
With a powerful push of his legs, Firepaw drove his claws into the bark, scaling the tree with haste to the low branch. The bird was too slow in hearing him approach, flapping pitifully as he grasped it in his jaws. With a quick bite, the job was done, and the apprentice hopped down to bury his catch.
