Echopaw hadn't taken a second to rest since returned, his paws were busier than ever. Any chance that the tom got to go outside of camp, help out with the nursery, even help the elders get rid of ticks! Echopaw was on it. It gave him a good reason not to think about the trauma of the Twolegs or the fact he now had a non existent rock collection. The time to return home was nearing and everyone knew it. Even the youngest kit, really.
The cream furred tom bounded up to the makeshift medicine den and called out to his aunt, "Fawnshiiiinnnneeee!" he meowed, sure that he would be heard, "Need any help? I'll help. We're going home! Apprentices and warriors first. I can help get the herbs ready to go home?"

Fawnshine's ears tilted in the direction of Echopaw as she heard her name being meowed, and she turned around, his voice catching her attention. "Yes, thank you. There are a few herbs that need to be taken back too, just in case. But other than that, if none of the other warriors and apprentices need help, that would be all."
A part of her had a kind of nostalgia for having an apprentice help her again, wondering if perhaps he could officially earn the title of a medicine cat apprentice one day. She wasn't necessarily closed to the idea, though a sense in her still had a longing for her previous apprentice. Shaking the thought out of her head, she would gesture to the stack of herbs that she had set out for Echopaw to bring back to camp. He had been a great help while she needed assistance, and finally... The thought of returning home was comforting, to say the least.

Echopaw's eyes trailed to the herbs before them, his tail twitching excitedly, weight shifting from paw to paw as he nodded in understanding, "Yes. I'll take this stack." he mewed dutifully, leaning forward to sniff at them - they didn't have any discernable scent to him at that moment, but a general herbal smell that made his nose twitch and a smile grow on his maw. It comforted him, this scent. While at the cutter's the memory of the strong-smelling herbs kept him tied to the ground and reminded him of where he came from and who he was fighting to stay alive for. He thought for a moment, and shifted his paws, he hadn't thought to ask anyone else if they needed his help, he had just thought to ask Fawnshine. The medicine cat and their herbs were quite significant, and Echopaw wanted to do important things.
