A nest for two (closed)

Neither Batsong nor Birchpaw had chased Silverwing out of the medicine den, and until they did she was NOT going to relinquish the nest made for two. Even though she could barely fill it by herself even while stretching out, anyone that had come near was met with a growl and a sharp look that promised violence. It wasn't like her at all, but Silverwing didn't want to lose anything else. Though she hadn't known Whisperear for too long, they were still a friend that had gone missing. With Brackenwing, that made two friends that she had lost, and on top of it Blazefang was leaving soon for that Thunderclan tom, Dayquill. Her love was like poison, anyone that she got too close to would either abandon her or suffer, and it was only a matter of time until Russetrye and Sleepyhollow were afflicted by her curse.

Keeping herself locked away in the medicine den seemed like a fine idea, all she could do here was bother the herbs, there was nothing to mess up, it seemed perfect. Perhaps it had been too perfect. Silverwing could hear the approach of paws, and it didn't take her long to figure out what this might be about. "Need the nest?" She didn't look up at the cat that had approached, but whichever one it was wouldn't be peeling her out of this nest without help.

Batsong was busy with alot of work... the stress of it was really getting to her. She felt a great deal responsible for not being able to protect the ones that they had all lost lately. She was med cat after all, if she couldnt protect the clan what was she doing?

Silverwing lay sprawled out in their temporary little med den patient nest. Where the wounded would be if they had anyone who needed it. Luckily, for now no one was hurt so it was fine by Batsong if Silver wanted to use it. "l-luckily, n-no one is hurt for now, y-you can s-stay there" she replied quietly. She worked on sorting some herbs for a little humming softly to herself as she did so, but she felt exhausted, she had worked alot lately, it seemed like there was an unending amount to be done and she felt like she had no time to do it in.

She managed to push through and get things at least put away for now... More would have to be collected soon but she was so tired, her body wouldnt have it. She glanced over to see Silver sprawled out in the nest and grinned a little with a mischievous smile. Not anything bad, moreso a super playful type of mischievous. "hmm but if y-you want the nest you are g-gonna have to share" she giggled.

She nudged at the warrior scooting her over so she could have some room as well, giggling as she did so playfully. Silverwing clearly needed some cheering up ... and to be honest so did she. She missed Bracken and Whisper alot. Bracken was her sister (adopted) and whisper her kit (also adopted) and she knew that Silver had spent alot of time with Bracken as well.

Not knowing where their clanmates were and if they were even okay was pretty hard on both of them. So for a brief couple of seconds, Batsong wanted to just have a little fun and forget temporarily the troubles that windclan had.

"M-move ov-over y-you are hogging all the soft moss" she giggled pushing at her friends side gently with her paws.

Good. She would be able to stay here a lot longer then, and with their current situation in mind Silverwing doubted that there would be an influx of injured to a point where this extra nest was needed. "Share?" The silver she-cat hissed. "I'm not gonna-" Silverwing let herself be pushed, eyes locked onto Batsong as she climbed into the nest. "Oh, share with you?" That didn't seem so bad. "I'm hogging the moss? You are my guest, I suppose I should be more hospitable, huh?" Silverwing sat up straight, staring down at Batsong with a mischievous grin of her own. "But if you're gonna share the nest with me, you better share some of that fur!" Silverwing pounced! Paws wrapping around the medicine cat as she snuggled deeper into her friend's pelt. "It's too could outside, but you're just the right temperature, Batsong! Where have you been all my life?" Silverwing began to purr, the feeling of sweet contact with a friend banishing all those nasty thoughts from her head for the moment. Pulling away slightly, the silver warrior gave her friend a stern look. "You're the only one allowed to share this nest with me, got it? No one else!"

Batsong blinked back up at the warrior when she looked at her with that grin that matched her own.

She let out a playful squeal when Silver nuzzled into her pelt and fur.  She happily nuzzled back.  Silver was so soft and getting a little bit of time to just live in the present was much needed right now.



Silver asked her where she had been all her life which batsong purred and snuggled closer to her for a little.

She sat up and pointed to silvers chest with her paw.

"Ive b-b...been right here she meowed that wholesome and mischievous grin back again.

When silver looked down at Batsongs paw she did the little trick where she gently traced her paw upwards and booped Silvers nose.

Batsong giggled playfully.  

Silver sat up and sternly gave her a look next and explained to her that this was their nest no one elses... Well that made good sense to Batsong who nodded attentivly.

"excellent p-point f-f.f-friend.  T-this nest is pe-perfect size for us 2 no one else.

She agreed gently tackling silver down again next to her to keep warm.  Silver was right... it was way too icky and cold out and the only way to spend a day like this was next to an amazing friend just like this.


She rested her head gently on silvers shoulder and closed her eyes sleepily.  After alot of work to take care of all the warriors in her clan, it felt nice to let someone take care of her for once too.

Silverwing watched her friend's paw, giggling along as it met with her nose. "What an evil tactic!"

The silver she-cat let herself get tackled. This time in the 'medicine den' actually felt pretty nice, why hadn't she spent more time with Batsong before? Silverwing's smile softened as her friend's eyes closed. Even with an apprentice of her own, Batsong and Birchpaw had a whole clan to look after. Surely that could get tiring, maybe she could have a little cuddle session with Birchpaw at some point too? A fine idea, Silverwing!

If Batsong wanted to nap, then it was her duty as a good friend to make it the best nap she'd ever have. Silverwing's purr faded until it was just a soft rumble, and she began to place soothing licks on the black she-cat's head.

Batsong soon fell fast asleep curled up beside her good friend. It was one of the most restful, relaxing naps she had had in a long time. At this point, she had no idea how soon thing would go wrong and that she would lose her friend via silver getting kicked out.

But for right now, everything was perfect and the soft purr of silverwing ushered her into a pleasant dream
