The Great Goose Hunt (closed)

The journey from Highstones back into familiar territory should have been an exhausting one, but the cat accompanying her made the trek feel more like a simple walk. Around this cat Silverwing didn't have to act, she just simply was, and it was time to really show her mentor how much she meant to the silver she-cat. She needed a grand gesture of sorts, and it was time that she stopped putting it off. With Windclan removed from their territory, predators were sure to have taken over the land just as they had with Shadowclan, which was perfect for what she was planning. Without a word to Blazefang, Silverwing stalked the territory, staying alert for any signs or sounds of what they were out here for. In the distance a short honk sounded, and Silverwing was instantly sprinting towards it, offering only a quick "Found it!" to her companion. The goose came into sight, and before it could react to the cat charging at it Silverwing pounced! Still shocked by the attack, the winged beast below Silverwing flailed and flapped its wings frantically in an attempt to dislodge its attacker. It tried nipping at Silverwing a few times, though it never quite reached its mark. "Don't hurt the wings, Blazefang!" Those were needed, after all they were the whole reason she had wanted to kill one of these things.

Blazefang wasn’t really sure a pregnant queen should be walking this far, but she supposed she was still early enough in her pregnancy for it not to be so bad. Still, what on earth was Silverwing doing? They were… hunting a goose? But also trying not to damage its wings? Blazefang had the feeling she was missing several key bits of information, but she wasn’t about to let Silverwing fight a goose by herself! Noting that Silverwing had its back, and she couldn’t really go for a side without getting the wings, the ginger warrior ducked low and threw herself at the goose’s underside.

Blazefang had never really tried to fight a goose before. She had no idea their chests were so solid! All she got for her efforts were a few pecks. She swore the thing had pulled some of her fur out.

Blazefang attempts Belly Rake and fails, using 25 stamina and taking 5 recoil damage.

The bird was getting quite rowdy! Feathers had started to fly as its struggle intensified and it bucked the young warrior off of it's back. Instead of continuing its assault on the ground warrior, the goose decided to turn toward the one that had been foolish enough to try and hold it down. Silverwing braced herself for peck, but was shocked as the bird instead used its wings to repeatedly slam into her. It didn't really hurt, thought it was very hard to focus with those feather slapping her in the face constantly. Surging forward, Silverwing aimed a barrage of unsheathed claws at the goose's neck. Right before any of her attack could connect however, the goose slammed a wing right back into her head, throwing the warrior off balance and forcing her to retreat slightly.

Blazefang took the goose head-on, staring it down. Suddenly, she ducked once again, this time going for a sharp bite at the base of its silly long neck.

With Blazefang stopping the goose from flapping its beautiful wings, Silverwing was free to get in a couple strikes of her own! One paw struck just above Blazefang's head, tearing at the goose with sharp claws. Before it had time to react to the first, Silverwing slashed out once more at the thing's neck, finally earning a couple swift pecks on the head.
