What a wonderful day! The day was cool, and the clouds in the sky would let the sun come out every now and then for a lovely burst of heat. Something about these days seemed to make Silverwing more excitable than usual, which was bad news for Brackenwing! She had been on her way to talk to the marbled warrior before someone else caught her eye. "Whispear, Whisperear! Over here!" Her cheery call rang out through camp as she spotted the warrior. Too excited to wait for Whisperear to approach, Silverwing bounded over, stopping just short of slamming into the other cat. "Whisperear, let's go out hunting! You promised me last time, remember?" It wouldn't be the grand party she had hoped for, but maybe she could use the one on one time to get to know Whisperear better.

Whisperear looked to the voice that called out to them, and their smile warmed when they saw that it was Silverwing bounding up to them. “I did promise,” they agreed with a soft chuckle. “I haven’t gone out on patrol yet, so I’m happy to do so now. Please, lead the way.” They followed alongside her. Hopefully their attempts at hunting would not be quite so embarrassing, but if it was, maybe Silverwing wouldn’t think too poorly of them. It did not really feel like Silverwing had the capacity for such negativity as judging them for their skills.

Silverwing purred in delight as the other warrior agreed to join her, and with a bounce in her step Silverwing lead the two out of camp. As they walked through the moors, Silverwing tried to find something to talk about. "I think I know why Brackenwing likes you, you're really nice, but that's also what I like about you. Well, that and your ears, and your fur patterns. They're really unique, and they make you look very pretty!" That wasn't an odd thing to say, was it? Whisperear was very pretty, all of their unique features only heightened their beauty in Silverwing's eyes, but maybe actually saying something about it out loud wasn't the best idea. "I'm sorry, I don't know why I said that. I mean, you are pretty, but-" A scent filled Silverwing's nostrils, cutting her off mid-sentence. Thank the stars for that. Dropping into a crouch, the young warrior stalked off in the direction of the scent until she found the culprit. She wasn't in the mood for a prolonged silent battle, instead, she bolted after her prey. The poor rabbit had no time to react, Silverwing was on it instantly, ending it's life in the next moment. Hefting her catch triumphantly, Silverwing wandered back to Whisperear.

Whisperear smiled and was happy to listen as they walked. They didn’t find Silverwing too weird, or whatever else she may anxiously believe. Their closest friends growing up had been over-the-top or obnoxious, and Silverwing did not come anywhere close to that. In fact, Silverwing reminded Whisperear a lot of their first friend, Rosepaw…something about her being so sweet but also chatty, and having good intentions. She got upset easier than Rosepaw did, but since they made the comparison in their mind, they felt even more ease while around her.
“Thank you,” they meowed warmly regarding the compliment of their fur pattern. They liked their pattern, and it was nice to hear that Silverwing did too. They watched her run off and catch something, and decided that they may as well give it a try to. They quietly hoped that this would not end poorly as it usually did.
They lifted their nose and took a deep breath. They smelled another scent, a similar rabbit, and set off to try and catch it too. They raced after it, but couldn’t keep up the same pace as Silverwing had been able to. The rabbit was alerted of their presence and took off at a speed that Whisperear could not keep up with. They slowed down, breathing heavily, and dropped their head in disappointment. They couldn’t remember the last time they successfully caught anything.
Whisperear attempted to catch a rabbit! Due to disabled stats, they are unsuccessful. -3 SP.

Silverwing watched silently as Whisperear chased after the rabbit, presumably not in the mood to stalk around just like Silverwing. Whisperear's chase didn't have the same happy ending hers did however. The lowering of their head sent a spike of sadness through Silverwing. Whisperear was really kind, seeing them down in any way just didn't sit right with her. Dropping her catch, the silver warrior padded over to her companion, bumping them on the shoulder as soon as she was close enough. "That rabbit didn't even look tasty, good riddance! It probably would have spoiled everything in the fresh-kill pile anyway. We have all day to find something good, why don't we take another crack at it?" With a smirk, Silverwing added "I can always catch enough prey for the both of us too, since we're friends and all that." She said that last part a bit too quickly, hoping to let it slip by undetected. If Whisperear had nothing to say about it, then it would have to be true!

Whisperear smiled gratefully at Silverwing. They were an awful hunter; Whisperear understood that. But they appreciated that Silverwing was being so upbeat for them. They meowed, “Yes, I’ll give it another try. Maybe I was just warming up.”
They were not terribly confident on that front, but Whisperear would indeed give it another try. They walked alongside Silverwing until they caught a fresh scent. It smelled like a bird, but it was different than they were used to smelling. They moved forward carefully, trying to build as much energy as they could manage as they approached. While crouched, Whisperear could only catch slight color of feathers through the tall grasses. They did not get far enough, however, before a loud honking noise screamed in the air and suddenly a heavy weight slammed into them and sent them rolling a couple of paces away. Whisperear stood fully tall now and realized that the bird they had spotted was a young goose, and the mother was now furious at them for daring to get near it.
“Foxdung,” Whisperear muttered. The goose had already attacked and did not look ready to leave, and so Whisperear lunged forward and clamped its jaws down onto the goose’s tail and pulled hard, earning a honk from the predator.
Whisperear attempted to catch some prey…but failed! Predator encounter! -3 SP for hunting. Goose used Beaked Thrust, dealing 10 damage and costing 15 SP. Whisperear used Tail Yank, dealing 8 damage and costing 15 SP. The goose is stunned for 1 turn!

That was pretty much confirmation of their friendship, Silverwing was sure! "Let's get to it then!" Her smile brightened as they continued through the territory, and for a moment Silverwing thought about telling Whisperear about her plans. This wasn't the time for that, at least not until she was able to tell Brackenwing, but Whisperear would be the first- actually, second cat that Silverwing would proposition. It already upset her that Blazefang wasn't going to be the first, but she couldn't change that. Turning to her clanmate, Silverwing was met with nothing but empty air. Had Whisperear ditched her while she had been spacing out? The honk that filled the air gave her an inkling as to the whereabouts of her fellow warrior, and Silverwing immediately bolted toward the sound. "Whisperear!" Breaking through the tall grasses, Silverwing found the warrior and something big, with wings! "Aw Whisperear, you shouldn't have!" It would be a wonderful trophy indeed! "The beast still draws breath, we oughta fix that!" With that out of the way, Silverwing plunged her teeth into the things fat body.
Silverwing used Snap, Dealing 8 HP and costing 7 SP

Whisperear was relieved to have Silverwing at their side straight away. They certainly did seem to have terrible luck when it came to hunting, but at least they were not alone in fighting this predator. They nodded approvingly to Silverwing when she leapt into the fight, and Whisperear was right behind her to continue tearing into the goose while it struggled to clear its pained mind of paralysis. After a moment it seemed to regain its senses, but not fast enough to move before Silverwing could get another hit in.
The goose is no longer stunned! [1/1] Whisperear used Front Paw Strike, dealing 8 damage and costing 7 SP.

The goose seemed to be getting rowdy once more, but Silverwing was having none of it. As soon as the beast started to move with more life than it had before, the silvery warrior leapt onto it, digging her claws in for a better grip. Stars, this thing was really oddly shaped. And loud. It was very loud. "Whisperear, go for the neck!" Actually it was almost impossible not to go for the neck wasn't it? This goose had the longest neck out of anything she had ever seen before, but it had wings. Feathers. That gave her an idea, though now wasn't the time for that. "Don't touch the wings though, those are mine!"
