Couldn't wash the echoes out [OPEN]

Darkspirit had silently done his duties for moons. A predictable routine and a tom that spoke few words to anyone, no one would expect him to leave his camp in the night. The duo-toned tom listened to the steady breathing of the other warriors before he made his move. He slipped out of the den and out of Thunderclan camp as smooth as silk. He didn't need his siblings following him either, as much as he loved them. This was something he'd started a long time ago when he meant to fight with a Riverclan cat for practice. He had been an apprentice then... but the other Riverclan apprentice he'd intended to battle was attacked by a weasel. Darkspirit chose to defend the other tom instead of take advantage of it. He hadn't seen that tom since and didn't expect to by now.

Darkspirit had avoided gatherings, unwilling to see what it was like to have a normal one. No... he didn't want to forget his first gathering and he didn't want Fourtrees marred by a peaceful interaction. Was that odd? He needed the anger that had been bubbling away like a sticky black tar pit deep in his chest. He needed to feel motivated to fight and to hunt down evil cats. He also needed practice... real practice. The young warrior made his way to Sunningrocks and leaped on top of one of them. Surely some Riverclanner would get bored and go on a night patrol... And if not, he would press even further into Riverclan territory. Even if he lost his battles, there was something be learned in failure.

He needed all of the real world experience that he could get.

'Invasion Dice' :

Darkspirit had been standing tall and strong while his heart was thunder in his chest. He'd been so eagerly anticipating an attack from directly across the river... that the one that Hawkshriek landed had been a complete surprise. Darkspirit went down without a sound and his mismatched eyes were wide with surprise. A moment later, his eyes narrowed, his ears pinned back and claws unsheathed. Wrinkling his nose back into a snarl, he replied with a voice like ice,

"I was waiting for you." Darkspirit wasted no time. The Riverclanner had made a mistake, and that was not going into full combat mode immediately. Darkspirit would make no such error. He rolled powerfully to his feet, using that famous Thunderclan strength, and mercilessly brought powerful blow after powerful blow down onto the Riverclan warrior's head.

Darkspirit used Front Paw Strike, dealing 8 damage and -7SP. He also used Thunderous Stomp, dealing 2 damage, inflicting a stun and -10SP

Darkspirit blinked in surprise at the swiftness of which his opponent recovered. This Riverclanner actually had some guts! Perfect! This was excellent practice for him, not at all like fighting a brain dead predator. Recovering his facial expression, he narrowed his eyes once more, mildly annoyed that his adversary was still talking.

"There are no plans. Only fighting. Just a simple test to see who wins, nothing more." He was putting it very bluntly and simply, but it was true. He only wanted the simple skirmish and then to leave whether he was the victor or not. He decided he'd push his luck a bit today and rushed forward. The move was risky, crazy even, but perhaps it would be unexpected and pay off. If not, well... this was part of learning.
