Dusk Brings the Moon [C]

Seeing camp, enveloped in dark, and yet still alive with cats' sounds was.. strange. Many of ThunderClan's own warriors were already asleep in their dens; leaving few familiar pelts in the night. Foxglare herself wasn't entirely sure why she hadn't joined them. She couldn't hunt well at night, and the only ShadowClan cats here she actually knew the names of was Nightstalker- by virtue of him being deputy- and Roseburn.

While the last time they spoke didn't end in hostility.. Their initial conversation wasn't entirely friendly, either. The she-cat wasn't a ThunderClan warrior, but she was a warrior in their camp nevertheless; it would be better to not have an uncomfortable air. Resolved, (and glad to have something to actually do,) Foxglare scooped up a sparrow from the fresh-kill pile. She wasn't wholly sure of ShadowClan's typical diet, but the bird had a fairly neutral taste. Hopefully it wouldn't have too jarring a flavor.

"Hello;" Foxglare plainly greeted, making even strides to the tortoiseshell. Setting down the brown bird between herself and Roseburn, the ginger tabby realized she hadn't a plan past 'speak to the warrior you hardly know'.. "...Fresh-kill?" She eventually offered.

Roseburn hadn't been expecting any ThunderClan cats to be out at this time. Many had reasonably retired for the night, and while she personally tried to respect their schedules, joining patrols during the day like any other, she was still ShadowClan, and she rose with the moon. It was part of what made her who she was. So when Foxglare, no less, approached her, it was safe to say she was a little shocked.

Now, Roseburn usually wasn't one to be shy, but the smile she offered Foxglare was certainly a sheepish one. After their last meeting, she felt a little awkward to be accepting kindness from this cat. But still, it was nice to have someone to talk to. "Thank you. I'm sorry about all of this, by the way. We're not keeping you up, are we? If we're being too much of a bother, I can talk to Nightstalker about it. You and the rest of ThunderClan have been so kind to us...."

And she was rambling now. Where was she even going with this? It was like she completely forgot how to hold a conversation. She let out a sigh, taking a bite of the sparrow Foxglare had brought. Of course, not knowing how to eat birds, she ended up with a mouthful of feathers. And now she probably looked ridiculous. Roseburn couldn't help but laugh at her own difficulty. At least it could help relieve some of the tension. She always was better at playing around.
