Moonlily hadn't been known to be the one to organize hunting patrols, much less be the one to lead them. But given that they now had new, temporary clanmates to support, it only was a matter of time. Hosting an entirely other Clan who was mostly beaten down and battered meant a great, great increase of need for food. Luckily for both Skyclan and Shadowclan, it was Greenleaf, meaning prey would be plentiful. Turning around to the rest of her patrol, Moonlily sat, curling her fluffed tail around her paws. "We will meet back here with any prey we catch, and leave it here as well. Catch all you can, and if a predator appears, yowl for help. We have the numbers, everyone should be able to stay safe." Perhaps it was a good thing leadership was in her veins, as she spoke fluidly, swiftly.

Once everyone seemed to disperse, she began hunting herself, sniffing the air for any birds or rodents that may exist nearby. Interestingly enough, it wouldn't be a bird that caught her nose, but a small reptile. This should be familiar to Shadowclan, surely. The thought ran across her mind as she went to catch it, a quick paw darting out to pin the surprisingly fat creature before ending its life. Lizards sometimes found themselves in the fresh-kill pile, but normally reserved for the apprentices and kits who were just beginning to eat. They were much smaller in Skyclan territory, and it wasn't hard to have to eat a few to truly be full. Still, it worked.

Moonlily attempted to catch a lizard. Success! -3SP

【Forestbreeze】

❒ Forestbreeze awkwardly dispersed alongside the rest of the patrol as he went in a random direction to begin his hunt. Being in a completely different clan as well as being separated from the other half of his clan made Forest even more nervous and anxious than usual. His biggest worries were the whereabouts of Iceheart and if she was in relatively good health—as good of health one could be after having nearly drowned in an unexpected flood—as well as taking care of Honeypaw. To prevent himself from losing sleep and fur from all the worrying, he decided to occupy himself with the familiar duties that came with the warrior profession. However, he kept himself quite cautious. He didn't really know much about anyone from Skyclan and the territory was also new to him. He didn't want to insult anyone or get lost. He decided on staying somewhat close to the area they dispersed from. He made it a landmark of sorts so he could return in case he lost his way or if he needed assistance.

❒ His senses twinged as he picked up on a scent not too far from where he was heading. He slowed his pace and closed in on it. It was a bird! He wasn't too familiar with hunting prey of the feathery kind but it never hurt to try his best. Besides, he'd always wanted to taste a bird or two.

❒ He held in his breath as he inched closer and closer. His gaze never strayed from his target. He paused all his movements just a few lengths away. He waited for it to settle before swiftly leaping. He prayed that it didn't fly away before he could even lay a claw on it.

❒ Pouting as he watched the bird fly off, he sighed and got off the ground. At least he tried. He needed more practice before trying to tackle on birds apparently. Ah well. He wasn't one to give up. He'll catch something soon.

Honeypaw

Honeypaw gave Moonlily a respectful nod before turning to find a good place to hunt. He kept an eye on where Forestbreeze was, and while he didn’t follow directly, he also didn’t wander off so far he couldn’t still smell Forestbreeze’s familiar, comforting scent nearby. Everything about Skyclan territory was unfamiliar and Honeypaw’s nerves were fried. He could only hope that his friend wasn’t getting annoyed with how clingy he was being. He knew he was old enough by now, nearly a warrior, that he should be able to take care of himself. But he didn’t really care. He knew he wouldn’t be able to be calm until he knew what had happened to Iceheart and the rest of their clan, and sticking close to Forestbreeze helped him feel at least a little bit better.

But for now, Honeypaw needed to focus. He took a deep breath and tried to shake the anxious thoughts from his mind. He wanted to help give back to Skyclan, and to do that he couldn’t be so caught up in his head he couldn’t focus on catching prey. He was careful as he padded through the unfamiliar forest floor, mindful of his still aching shoulder. He really wished his shoulder would just heal up already- it was getting annoying. And he had work to do.

Honeypaw’s whiskers twitched as he caught the scent of prey nearby, hearing the sound of scuttling through the underbrush. He dropped into a crouch, shifting to face the source of the scent. Squirrel! He had never caught a squirrel before. There weren’t very many on Shadowclan territory. A tiny smile appeared on Honeypaw’s face, and he slowly approached the fluffy creature, staying low to the ground before leaping forward in a pounce.

He managed to land, claws out, on top of the squirrel. Before it had the chance to try to run, he finished it off with a swift bite. A small purr escaped him. At least something went right.

Honeypaw attempted to catch a squirrel, and succeeded! It cost him -3 SP.
Honeypaw is currently at 20/20 HP and 57/60 SP
