Owlshriek

A new morning, a new apprentice. Owlshriek sat outside the apprentice's den with a calm demeanor. Despite being already warm this early in the morning, the air was just cool enough to where the tom didn't feel the need to sit in the shade. Though, that would change as the sun grew taller in the sky. Today, he was going to begin Gingerpaw's training. Yarrowpaw had the day off and could do as he pleased. Especially after that fight with the fox. But, for now, Owlshirek sat, waiting for his newest apprentice to exit their den.

Gingerpaw could barely sleep, she was so excited to start her training. She jumped out of her den, shifting her head towards Owlshriek. "Owlshriek! Goodmorning!" She yapped on happily.

Owlshriek

Owlshreik nodded in greeting, glad that he did not have to wait very long to get training started this day. Gingerpaw's enthusiasm would do her well in the long run. "I'm glad you are awake, Gingerpaw. We have a lot to cover today." With a flick of his tail, the tom led the way out of camp. Despite the difference in stamina, Owlshriek made the pace one that took an effort to keep up with for Gingerpaw to know where he expected her to be at. Even if it was tiring.

He led the way towards the river, explaining the borders as they crossed their territory. Slowing to a stop, Owlshriek halted by the edge of the river. "The water is dangerously high currently. I want you to be careful about where you choose to hunt near the river. Look for shallow portions of the river that are slow moving." Even the most experienced swimmers in RiverClan could get swept away. "While I teach you to hunt, I will remain downriver of you if you fall in."

With a nod, he settled near a lower portion of the river. With careful words, he explained how to hunt properly, avoiding letting your shadow fall over the water. How to scoop with your claws and kill the prey once caught. Once the specifics were explained, Owlshriek's paw darted into the water after a dark form-- And with a woosh of water, a silverfish flopped by the shore. Ending it's life, Owlshriek looked upriver at Gingerpaw. "Give it a try."

Gingerpaw of Riverclan

Gingerpaw was excited to start hunting. She listened closely to Owlshriek, doing verything he said. She prepared her claws to catch the fish rushing down the river. She stuck out her arms, and at the right time, snatched a fish.
