shadekit's apprentice ceremony

It seemed it was finally time for the longest member of the nursery to become apprenticed. Mottlerose found her way easily atop the Highrock, calling out to the clan. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Shadekit was old for a kit most his siblings were king out of the nursery . The goofy little fellow trotted out hearing the call of a meeting. He grinned looking up at his deputy and winked at her putting his tail over his face and laughing heavily … he was imitating their hide and seek game they always played. Sitting with his clanmates he wondered what this would be about. A butterfly flew past and he grinned and started to chase after it … luckily his mother too him by the scruff and sat him back down “pay attention” she would tell him.


He did his best to but his mind would wonder easily as he gazed up at the sky above kinda zoned out a little bit

Mottlerose flashed a smile towards the tom as he appeared, but this time, only gave him a nod instead of playing along with the game of hide and seek. A brief look of concern on her face flickered as he seemed to easily led astray, but she had to continue. After all, the mentor she chose would be the best one to help... she hoped.

"Shadekit, it is time for you to become an apprentice. From this day on, until you become a warrior, you will be known as Shadepaw. Dayquill will be your mentor, and he will teach you all that he knows. Congratulations." She dismissed the clan to celebrate with a brief dip of her head, and Mottlerose then lept off the Highrock to join in cheering for the new apprentice.

Shadepaws eyes went wide hearing this … yay he got to be an apprentice like all his siblings … he wasn’t excited because of the training part really. He was excited because that meant he got to sleep in the apprentice den with all his siblings again. They all got lucky it felt like and got to go early.

He enjoyed all the attention and went over to dayquill sitting next to him with a goofy grin and empty looking eyes that held his signature look of showing not much thinking going on behind them.


Ohhh we get to train together he said enthused and happy

…hmm but I already beat you in our practice spar he said respectively but with a goofy grin…

It was hard to tell if shadepaw actually thought he had bested a warrior as a kit or if he realize day had let him win…

He wasn’t exactly to smart but he would try his best to make dayquill proud of him.
