Sigh.

Sparrowkit sat up in her nest, unable to sleep. She yawned, giving her head a little shake before looking around the nursery. Everyone was asleep.

She didn't understand how they could all sleep so much. Any time she laid down her head wouldn't stop showing her things she wanted to do. After all, who would want to sleep when they could spend that time playing chase? The tiny kitten stared at the opening of the nursery. She could sneak out easily, sure, but it's no fun playing all alone...

Wait.

Her gaze dropped to her furball of a sister, who lay curled up in a ball at her feet.

Without a moment's hesitation, she promptly started squishing Sagekit's sleeping face with her forepaws while whispering "Sagekitttt, wake uppppp, I'm boreedddddd."

She huffed and batted her tail at her sisters face in reply.

Sparrowkit huffed before getting a face full of tail. "Rude!" she snapped, before latching on to the offending limb with a well placed bite.

Duskflight

Small, kit-like squeals and voices caught Duskflight's attention as he returned to camp after a late-night hunt. Naturally, he thought something was up. Carefully blending in with the shadows, the tom sniffed the air — eyes scanning for danger. However, his alert was for nothing. Dismissing his own worry with a flick of the tail, he decided to check it out, anyway.

"If I'm not mistaken, you two should be asleep right now," The tom mewed, keeping his voice soft to not alert the others. "Why are you both up so late?" Setting his catches aside, Duskflight lay down, peering into the nursery.

Sparrowkit flinched at the sound of Duskflight's voice. "Ehh... I couldn't sleep." She mumbled, ducking her head and side eyeing her sister. After all, it was totally her fault they got caught awake.

Couldn't possibly be Sparrowkit's.

"Really? Well, I know most good warriors usually don't bite their clanmates for fun," Duskflight chuckled, raising his eyebrows in amusement. The sentence was purely intended for sarcasm, and he was curious what the younger kits would say.

"Anywho.. I managed to hunt a lizard or two on my way back. Are you two in the mood for a small snack?" He asked, eyes glancing to the prey he'd set aside, before looking back at Sparrowkit and Sagekit.

"She shoved her stupid tail in my face! She was practically asking me to bite her." she whined, "Why do we have to sleep so much anyway, I'm not tired and it's boring laying here for so long. How come all the apprentices get to get up early... what if I want to catch my own lizards?"

Stamping her front paws on the padded ground, her voice began to steadily rise in volume and pitch. "How can I be a good warrior if I'm stuck in here forever."
