New Horizons [soloooo]

Scorchtalon raced through the moors, the wind in his fur and the sun at the horizon. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt this free. Finally, after moons of having to endure in silence, the stench of the Dark Forest had been lifted from his home. He missed his fallen clanmates every day, but the thought of them watching over him from Starclan gave him much-needed comfort. For the first time, he felt... hope.

He slowed down, easily catching his breath. He felt like he was invincible. He'd survived the reign of undead cats who could kill a warrior with a single swipe of a paw. He was mortal, he knew this. He wasn't that much of an idiot, he wasn't going to do anything reckless, but it was nice to feel untouchable, even if it was just for a short time. His pace evened out to a leisurely walk as he enjoyed the sun on his fur. His moor-sharpened eyes caught the small form of a hare, sitting outside it's burrow nibbling on a blade of grass. His mouth watered at the sight. Creeping forward, he waited until he was close enough before making a dash for it, killing it with a swift bite to it's neck.
