Iceheart’s muscles relaxed when Nightstalker admitted defeat. She sat herself down and tried to force her body to relax in its entirety. “Thank you, Nightstalker,” she mewed. “You also did wonderfully. You’re right that I don’t have the experience with more slender fighters like you.” After all, all of the Dark Forest cats that she trained with were big and burly, with power behind their claws, rather than agility. “If you would like, in the future, we can train together more. You can teach me more about how to deal with enemies, and I can try to teach you skills of my own.”

She took a deep breath. With their sparring finished, she found herself a little tired and out of breath. “We should rest now. No doubt we’ll have patrols later, and we’ll need our strength. Thank you again for the invitation to spar.”
