There was only so much that hunting could do for Nightstalker, so it was with those intentions that he decided that maybe he should communicate and interact with his clanmates, even if suspicion hounded his every step. It was a decision made for him when he noticed the newly appointed warrior, Iceheart was out and about. Giving himself almost no time to think, he slunk in the general direction of the young she-cat. He was becoming every bit Burningwing, in his constant need for stealth, to make himself unnoticeable. Born out of necessity now. "Iceheart." Nightstalker rumbled as he pulled himself back up to his confident stature. "Would you like to join me in a spar?" He mewed, stony-faced yet polite and patient all the same.

Iceheart was admittedly a bit…, lost without direction. She’d spent many moons listening to the instructions of her mentor, the Dark Forest; whoever gave her it. Now that she was on her own as a warrior, she didn’t know what to do. When was a good time to go hunting? Or on a patrol? With how scattered everything has been since Murkystar’s death, there were not a lot of orders being given…
She flinched when Nightstalker appeared at her side. She looked at him with wide eyes, struggling to calm down for a brief moment until his words registered. She relaxed and gave a nod. “Ah…certainly, Nightstalker,” she mewed. She followed him to an area where they can spar with enough room. “Whenever you are ready.”
Nightstalker nodded stiffly before they made their way to the sparring grounds, the cool night air soothing his nerves some. He watched as mist from his breath billowed out and dissipated into the air before he properly turned his attention to his sparring partner. "Of course. If you're certain." The young tom flexed and stretched for a moment, taking the time to assess his opponent. She was more sturdily built than he, much closer to Cicadashrieks physique than his own, so he'd have to take care to exceed Icehearts expectations of what his move would be. He was sleek and fast, so he had to play to those qualities regardless. But like Cicada, she was unlikely to expect something head-on.
Nightstalker launched forwards, making himself smaller as he cut the distance swiftly, jerking his muscles and legs to feign as if he was going to dart to the side, but in actuality, he launched himself straight at her head. Wrapping his front paws around her head tightly, and using one of his back legs to kick out one of her front paws, he twisted just so that she lost her balance and he was able to bowl her over into the muck. He didn't stick around though and jumped away a few tail-lengths to give her time to recover and retaliate.
Nightstalker Used Jumping Strike, Costing 8+3+1 12 Damage and 7 stamina.

Iceheart breathed steadily as she watched Nightstalker take position for their spar. Their builds were quite different: she was small, but sturdy; he was tall, but thin. He’d have speed on her side, and he was also older than her. It wasn’t by much, but it was enough that he knew how to take hits easier than her. He also proved quickly that his sleek physique was not simply for show as he leapt at her and they went colling in the mud. He was up and away from her in an instant as she got back up to her feet. The first attack and more experience meant that it was unlikely that Iceheart could win this spar. Her gaze glanced down at the mud underneath her feet. Unless she could…
Looking back at him, her paw suddenly swiped like she was clawing at him, but there was still a great distance between them. Instead, the mud sopping off of her paw went flying at Nightstalker, spraying into his face to blind him for a moment.
Iceheart used Mud Slap, dealing 6 (5 + 1) damage and costing 10 stamina. Nightstalker is stunned for 1 turn!

Nightstalker must have gotten rusty to not see THAT one coming. But at least Iceheart had a brain in that head of hers, but maybe, if he lost today, that would just prove to the both of them that a little bit of smarts goes a long way. It took him a moment, tossing his head and wiping the muck away from his eyes, it'd take him just a moment to attack again.
Nightstalker is no longer stunned!

Iceheart took the opportunity of Nightstalker’s blindness in the mud to dart forward and hit her paw against him. No claws were used to draw blood, though it took Iceheart a moment to remind herself of that fact. After training with the Dark Forest cats, she was used to not holding back claws. She hopped back a few paces, muscles tense.
Iceheart used Front Paw Strike, dealing 8 (7 + 1) damage and using 7 SP.
Nightstalker charged forward, his eyes finally clear of mud, and he planned to take advantage of her greater size. Nightstalker ducked and rolled himself onto his back, catching a grip on Icehearts belly and hooking himself onto her longer fur, but unfortunately, he was his fathers son and failed to do a belly rake - again - Nightstalker got onto his paws quickly and faced Iceheart with a good-natured huff. "I've never been the best fighter, I've got all the skills in hunting, but that's all I got going for me apparently." The young tom rolled his eyes but braced for Iceheart.
Nightstalker tried to use Belly Rake! But failed! He truly is Mistyfalcons kid. -5 HP -25 SP

Iceheart breathed heavily with her heart hammering in her chest when she managed to swat Nightstalker off of her. She tensed her muscles and sprang at Nighstalker, slamming him down onto the ground and doing her best to hold him down. He was larger, but he was slim; she had more muscle and weight despite her smaller size.
Iceheart used Leap and Pin! Dealt 7 damage and costing 15 SP. Nighstalker is pinned for 1 turn!
Nightstalkers pride was on the line in this fight, he would admit, but it wasn't like he was totally unaware that he wasn't the most skilled fighter in Shadowclan, his skillset more in tune with hunting and stalking, but he had to at least prove his mettle as a warrior! Managing to turn himself over onto his paws, which he managed to do either through sheer luck or because of her inexperience, he was able to surge up with all his strength and toss her off him. Success! He'd have to give some tips afterward, about fighting wriggly opponents like himself, there was never a time in which any cat had to stop learning, after all.

Iceheart was thrown off immediately when Nightstalker ducked under her. She knew that she was close to being beat in this fight, and she'd have to act quickly if she wanted a chance of winning the spar. She used an extra burst of energy to get a couple more blows on Nightstalker while she was still close to him following the failed pin.
Iceheart used Desperate Blows, dealing 6 (4 + 1 + 1) damage and costing 7 SP. Iceheart also used Front Paw Strike, dealing 8 (7 + 1) damage and costing 7 SP. KO pending for Nightstalker!

Nightstalker stumbled into the muck below them with a 'Humph!" after Iceheart battered him senseless. He was silent for a moment before he threw a paw up "I give!" He mewed, though it was half-heartedly as he heaved himself onto his paws and shook himself out. Nightstalker padded over to Iceheart afterward, his eyes a bit lighter and kinder than when they first spoke. "You did good. Personally, I think what you might need to work on, is sparring with your clan-mates with different builds. Like mine. I can tell that you were struggling a bit, but despite that, you persevered. A little confidence goes a long way" Nightstalker mewed, giving her a little piece of his thoughts on their spar. "I took after my father, no doubt about it now, as my skill lies in hunting, not fighting." With a shrug, Nightstalker gave her a small jab of encouragement.
