Batsong awoke the next morning after their talk with whisperkit and sat up yawning, Whisperkit was still curled up next to them asleep and she smiled happily. She slowly got up so as not to disturb the kitten and sat at the nursery entrence her eyes scanning over the camp around her. Windclan's unwelcome guests were stalking about the undead keeping an eye over everything as well it seemed. Batsong would not let them hurt Whisperkit though. They could try and they would soon find out that would be the last mistake they ever made. Batsong cared not if they were dead undead... yea whatever . She had lost her apprentice... she had lost her parents... she had lost her childhood friend Daisypaw... she would not lose anyone else. Especially not to these... things... these monsters!

She did feel a bit odd... not sick but something had definitely changed it was nothing to do with the undead... it was hard to describe something just felt off. It didn't necessary feel off as in a bad way it was just different. She shifted back and forth on her paws unsure of what it was really or what was going on. She sighed closing her eyes.

How did they get here? How had starclan abandon them. The quiet molly sat alone for now keeping vigilance of the nursery. Her black fur fluffed out as a wind blew through camp. Her golden gaze saw all that was coming towards and she vowed to herself to protect the kittens of windclan.

Smoky tendrils wrapped around her paws as she walked. Her death was by starvation, so she looked famished in her corporeal form. Spiderbite opened her mouth to scent for anything unusual, bone white teeth glinting in the sun.

She took to guarding the side of camp by the nursery just in case any idiot warrior thought they could stage an insurrection. Such folly. The Dark Forest was here to stay, stars be cursed.

Spiderbite watched as a small kit stumbled towards the fresh-kill pile. “They really put a pelt on anything, don’t they?”

She approached the nursery, looking at Batsong. “Still waiting on your precious stars to save you?” Spiderbite cackled, her tail and tendrils wrapping around the warrior. “Kits getting you food, what’s wrong with your paws? Trying to give the poor thing a heart attack? A leafbare wind could kill her.”

A small smirk wrapped her face before meowing, “Unless that’s your goal, of course. A lot of mouths to feed this leafbare.”

Batsongs eyes lit up with happiness as Whisperkit approached "g-g..good morning to you too!" she stuttered. Happy that they were awake now and doing well.

She nodded and kept an eye on them as they trotted over the the Fresh kill pile.

Then something very unpleasant approached her... one of them. The usually shy and non-confrontational Batsong was not happy with them taking over her clan and this one seemed to be getting more and more bold.

Smoky tendrils swirled around the undead's paws as she spoke and her tail wrapped around Batsong was icy cold to the touch.

The undead was trying to bait her into talking about starclan but Batsong was relatively slow to anger and she wouldn't be tricked into talking about Starclan in front of these monsters. She was able to stay silent for that part not giving Spiderbite anything to work at from that angle...

HOWEVER, as soon as Spiderbite spoke of Whisperkit Batsong's eyes glared at the undead thing standing before her. She had hit a nerve with that more so than any taunting of Starclan would ever bring."I w-w..w-would never h-hurt W-whisperkit" her stutter since kithood kicking in hard as she spoke. "S-stay a-away from them" she hissed not backing down from the terrifying creature. She subconsciously moved between Whisperkit and Spiderbite not even aware what she was doing, more so instinctual.

Spiderbite cackled again. “Ah, darling, I wouldn’t waste my claws on you. Not when nature does that for me.”

She approached the kitten, the smoke following her paw steps. Only about a foxlength away, her claws making tapping in the earth.

Try me, you overgrown apprentice. You have no idea of the fire you play with.

Spiderbite looked at the kit with a devilish grin, then to the warrior.

Make your move.

Batsong was not about to let the dark forest cat get any closer to Whisperkit. She walked over, doing her best to look unafraid.

the fur along her spine bristled up in a protective measure and she stared directly into the DF cats eyes.

"b-..b-...back away f-...f-r...from them l-last warning" she meowed.

"H-h..hurt one hair on them and I v-v..vow to send you b-back to whatever shadow from which you came." she said flatly.  She did her best not to show it but this Dark Forest cat was terrifying and she couldn't help but be scared.  However, she would not stand by and watch this monster torment Whisperkit with fear and treachery.
